Welcome to Big Lake - Little Boat!!! I started this channel to document our fishing and hunting trips along with sporting events and family vacations. The time of year will most likely dictate the viewing content. We are willing and upfront about sharing tips, tricks and where to fish. Be sure to navigate the Great Lakes with safety. John 21:6

@@BigLakeLittleBoat Mid-June 'till September plus. The one I use is a Salmon Candy. The tape does glow. I don't know why Russell doesn't show which of his stuff glows.
Nice! GT West Bay fishing was good this year! Brad’s Thinfish red squiggle took everything in shallow this spring. Standard moonshine wonderbread RV. Finn Spoons Blue Mahi (take a look- very different profile spoons, several of them did well for me this year). Thanks for sharing!
It's actually called a "Keel sinker." It's an inline weight in front of a 6 foot leader to your main line. The other end of the leader attaches to your bait. It helps those shallow running baits get deeper in the water column. Thanks!
You guys really have this dialed in! Awesome video. Since I do most of my fishing on Lake Erie, I'd say my 3 favorite lures (spoons) are Kevorkian, Blueberry muffin, and Nascar. . My favorite crankbaits are probably Blue Chrome Bandit, Wonderbread Bandit, and Smithwick Perfect 10. And....I can attest to the versatility of the Coho Killer because it catches walleyes too!! Fish on, guys!
A really good video guys i really enjoyed watching it. I couldn't help but wonder, have you ever went to lake Erie walleye fishing. I know it's not the same as salmon fishing, but i think you would really like it.
How was the Master's Upgrade portion of the exam? I just finished the OUPV portion but can't find much information out there about what to expect on the Master's upgrade exam.
@@kevinmcdonald5457 i believe I did it all on thanksgiving 4 day weekend in 2023. Its only another 70 questions with a lot of repeat stuff. If you qualify for the time needed, I would recommend it.
@@BigLakeLittleBoat The guy in the cabin next to us caught many small whitefish using a slip bobber with a jig tipped with a small minnow or worm. I was bobber fishing, at night, from the boat dock using a 12 or 13 inch sucker minnow and I caught a 27 inch walleye. I was pike fishing and never thought I would catch a walleye on such a large sucker minnow. I let the big fat walleyes go because, they're females and I want them to make babies for next year.
I've been to Dog lake 7 times and know some secret spots. Wilford (now passed) told me some great fishing spots. Charlie, Wilford's son now runs Northern Wilderness Cottages on Dog lake. Dog lake is my favourite lake. On Dog lake, I fish for walleye, pike, white fish and lake trout.
@@BigLakeLittleBoat Use a small jig with a minnow or worm on or near a drop off. A slip bobber is a good way to catch whitefish and walleye. Other secrets will remain secret.
@@abcwithli5248 6 pike per person, 4 walleye and 6 smallmouth and there is no limit on burbot. We released a ton of fish too and ate a fair share as well.
