Early Javelin engines did, but this one does not.

You can enjoy one soon again. Just go to the Goodwood revival.

My step grandfather used to own a Jowett Jupiter in the early 1950's, it was made in Bradford in the West Riding of Yorkshire.

1485cc, 50bhp @ 4400rpm, max speed 78mph. On a long trip in 1962, dad's high mileage Javelin threw a piston far away from home, and an obliging garage worked overnight to replace the wet sleeve and a new piston with the engine in situ! Parts were still readily available from the VW agencies at that time, and little time was lost. I was 15, and shortly afterwards, obtained my drivers licence in the car. Very happy memories of a lively, flexible and easy to drive car. Greetings from Northland, NZ.
