Well I mean in the end, it’s 100% up to you, But I noticed a big part of Epic the Musical is the animatics from different animators, with different ideas. Since you have all these ideas for styles of game, maybe you could change the style based on what saga you’re playing. So each saga would be like a chapter, doesn’t have to be seen by the player but just every time the point of the game is to go from one plot point from a saga to the next, the style of the game changes with it. Just a thought

I love the pixel art! I think Epic is focused on the characters and what they're going through, so the third option doesn't sit quite right with me, but focusing on the background gives a sense of place and helps at times like in the lair of scylla, so I think the art style should be balanced, if that makes sense. So yeah, I think the pixel art would be the best option.

Maybe for the portraits you could try a pixel art style kinda like oneshot
