Great videos! I fly out of KHWY in VA. I’m a student pilot almost finished with my PPL. Just my long Xcountry and check left. I’m very interested in a clipper or pacer. I’m 45 and will be retiring in 5 years from the fire department. Looking for my forever plane to have fun in! Would love to see your pacer some time!
I love this video! Did you take a golf cart ride to the Piper Aviation Museum? I'm an employee there. We had our air conditioning really cranked up! Did you see the C54? Those guys were truly amazing! They wore their purple jumpsuits in that heat the whole time. I opened the gates and even drove the tug at one point as my rear end fried on the seat while another fellow drove the stairs over to the side hatch. The C54 is still here in the museum lot.
My avionics have changed since then. You can see my latest panel in my latest video of 2024 Sentimental Journey. The next upgrade will be to more reliable fuel level senders and a new digital fuel gauge.
It was Awesome to meet you and get to chat with you Juergen! I love your plane, I think it's so cool looking. This past week was to darn Hot for me, I wasn't ready for it. I'm glad ya made it home safe, I think I caught the last 5 mins of your flight on my app so I know ya was alright! Haha. We had a Heck of a Storm come in Saturday night, blew trees down all over town of hughesville/Muncy area. Can't wait to see another Adventure. I really do want to get my Pilot license and fly bush planes, maybe some day! stay safe and hopefully get to hang out again next year and it won't be so darn hot!
Thank you for sharing your Pacer and flight, Juergen! Hot camping can be very uncomfortable especially when there’s nothing else to do. I used to fly in Texas where it always seemed to be hot and windy in the summer. The current heat wave in the northern regions will pass eventually and good flying/camping weather will return. I look forward to your next adventure!
Awesome!! Hope to see you in Lock Heaven this year!! Its next week already!! Im excited. Ill be your Personal Uber driver if you want to try Mountain Top Pervision for supper a Night
Cole Aviation, "How to build a wing Rotator". I built two. One for the wing attachment and one for the wing root. I made only a few modifications. Mainly, made the outer base supports 15" with using 3" rollers, and placed them 3" inches down from the top of the up-rights and top of the roller wheel. (wheels from Harbor Freight). Went to a metal fabrication shop to make the 6' hoops in 1" square tubing. Cost me about $250 dollars in all to build two rotators. Much cheater than Wag's. Came out great!
These videos are very valuable to me. However, subtitles and translations do not seem to be available for these videos. Could you please re-upload it with subtitles?

Thank you for sharing your ride. Your night flight brings back memories from long, long ago. I share your sentiments about smooth air at night during good weather.
Actually, we did it again today. I organize fly outs for our EAA chapter. We had five airplanes and ten people participate. It was another great flight.
Actually, it’s not that difficult after you get the knot down. Then it becomes second nature. I think it’s better than driving thousands of rivets on metal airplanes.
you guys, like three of you, must have been in a line going northbound on the hudson corridor. sounds like you guys are too close to each other. i used to fly this corridor.
Not that I’m aware of. However, I stay a little higher to not disturb people on the ground. I have seen videos where other pilots fly between the monuments.
That day was very nice. I have flown the corridor when it was between 10 and 15 knots and the skyline creates its own “mountain waives”. I also have a video on my channel when I flew the corridor at night. That was really spectacular!
Bad place to put the wire. Ask yourself, in home wiring why do they use box connectors? The answer is that a wire should never pass a sharp surface, else there is potential for a short. Why is it that cars have wire harnesses containing several wires housed in a flexible plastic tube? To prevent fraying on sharp surfaces. So how much movement and flexing is there in a common wing construction while it is in flight? You have wire tied these wires to several ribs, something that was not there in the original construction. Yes they will fray. It may take years but that's what is going to happen. I'm thinking it would have been better to shield them in a tight approved binding tape for that purpose. You'd have to pull out the FAA manual for that update and I don't have that info. I'm in Canada. If ties are used understand that not all ties last as plastics are subject to deterioration much faster. So it must be approved, and I would be inclined to think that some kind of a long lasting vinyl grommet would suffice.
I had planned to drive over to meet you, Juergen, but was unable due to a travel conflict all week. I hope you will return to Triple Tree next year. Very sorry to have missed you. Clear skies this fall!
Hi Juergen. Great video of the back country and how to get there with a fun Pacer video. I use your videos for motivation to work on my own Pacer. I am going out to Mississppi to work on my wings...I have one wing torn down to almost the spars and will inspect and corrosion proof zinc primer before reassembly. Putting on the STC to extend the wing about 16in in the process while it is torn down. Hoping to have alteast one wing done in the next month. Will use your wing covering video as guidance when I am ready to cover. Thanks for posting Pacer content I don't see much on RU-vid.
Love your videos.I have a javelin(modified tail wheel tripacer) and would like to see glacier from the air. While it’s on my bucket list, you get off your duff and do it!
Juergen, in past years it seems that there were a lot of Tri-Pacers and Pacers at Airventure. Did you see many this year? Was there a parking area where many if not most of them parked? Do you have any photos of that area? Thanks for your time.
There were many PA-22, but they were all spread out. I didn’t take many pictures this year. When you go to OSH and S&F every year, the pictures all start looking the same.
Hello Juergen, good to see your videos once again! Thank you very much for posting your flight and experiences to Airventure 2023. I participated vicariously online all week long via the EAA website and the live streaming videos. Someday, I hope to get back to Oshkosh. I’m looking forward to seeing your next adventure!
