The gays and the pedohiles love this resentful flippant presentation. Unbelievably short sighted with respect to the Malthusian perspective on reproduction. It's a shame homosexuality was seen as a mental illness and gays were imprisoned, but the resentfulness this engendered makes all of them horrible people when given power. Such is that legacy that we are burdened with now.
Why are they applauding this lunatic? He's not saying being gay is normal, he's saying nothing is normal based on personal opinion. Self serving gibberish.
I see Burroughs was unable to recognize his own Pauline Apologetics at work. Human monogamy is indicated in fossil records that far predate any scriptures. To imply that Christianity is fundamental to this framework sounds like something straight out of Paul's mouth.
This Gentle man, was one of our most articulate poets As a nation, and i argue,( i had to correct the spell checker twice to confirm "lower case" i's, (un-paranthesized), was the Abraham of Rap.
A great reading of "Nothing Breaks Off At The Edge." I grew up near Los Angeles, and I remember discovering Holly Prado's wonderful poetry in the early 80's. There were poetry readings at a tiny counter-culture bookstore called Papa Bach's Books, right across from the NuArt theater in West Los Angeles. She wrote some truly great poetry, and I was sad when she died. She will be missed.
Writers write so readers can read. Having them read and talk about their work is a cheap publicity trick...one who writes can express himself through his writing quite beautifully and yet sound stupid when speaking about it, since its two different processes of speech.
Discovered Ebbe through the Donald Allen anthology tonight. Do read his poems "some stories of the beauty wapiti" an "each found himself" if you enjoyed this. Reminds me more of Joyce than any other poet. An unique voice, i wonder why he's not more known?
As someone born in 90s -This is deep. He was speaking to my grandparents (college aged at this time) and next up was my parents. And this is so true, they were preparing to be in the middle class, outfitted just to be a communicator of a facade. Unfortunately, my people/my village didn’t progress too far, but I am changing this. And his son is doing a phenomenal with our city, IMHO. I look forward to working with him soon.
This Bro. is vomiting all this rhetoric about not supporting the "bourgeoisie", and watched his own son aspire to be, and to become Mayor of Newark, New Jersey. These fake ass revolutionaries from the 50's and 60's were pathetic.
