no two way at the GP unfortunately so had to be careful. Im not sure if the TT is one way all the time now or like to GP. Makes for an interesting ride lol
Hi Steve. I don't recognize the sponginess on the brake on my Multistrada V4. The feel is still solid after ~5,500 miles. Would you check your front wheel bearings (or have them checked) as sufficient wheel movement could knock back the brakepads (through movement of the discs) which would explain the larger lever movement required to get the front brake to work again. Cheers, Mark.
I did a review on the Ducati MS forum and came to the same conclusions as most others - if the system worked properly it would be really fantastic, because when it's working it really is very nice BUT 1) re-connecting to the phone every time it drops off or you stop for some reason (including taking a phone call - or not) is a real pain. 2) My iphone gets really hot after a while and the whole system gives up causing the screen to freeze etc.. 3) Many locations do not appear in Sygic (yet you can google them easily or find with any other sat nav) - So basically... brilliant idea - but very poorly executed. A real shame
I'm in the Isle of Man atvthe moment wat hibg the Mqnx GP and the bike is superb. Suspension is so polished and the turn in so light and immediate. Go buy one now lol
Im a little jealous as I couldn't afford the FULL exhaust and decat. I have a few extras on mine. Carbon rear hugger, carbon chain guard, carbon heel guards, carbon heat shield, pike peak carbon beak. Tinted MRA screen and deflectors. I hope you love yours as much as I do mine. Im 3 years and 23000 miles in, and I'm off to Spain in two weeks. 😂
@@stevesherlockrides even with with an empty barrel it still doesn’t go all the way in. Something isn’t right. Do you know if there are different sized barrels?
Hey Steve, Great Video.. Looking for a bike like this over the next few months. How have you found it at low speeds? Is the fueling good or is it just wanting to have the revs over 6K all the time? Also did you do any 2 up touring with it or just solo? If 2 Up, How was it?
To be honest it's the easiest bike to ride at low speed as the 19 inch wheel helps with thimatvas done the fueling. It is a heavy bike 230 kgs but feel light
Very nice 👍. I mostly ride in N wales or the odd euro tour never bought a touring bike . As they a bit tall for me . Am ok on super duke evo as can lower the hight if need be. Pike peak would be top of my list if wasn’t going to fall off it ha .
Really curious at the reliability of the bike. I do not hear much online about any issues. Lets us know how it goes. I will warn you the integrated maps are trash but as a prior v4S you know that. The rest is great.
That will ride better than the standard v4. Just changed my 1290 super adventure to a 1290 GT., based a bit from following the Channel……Your channel is bob on…..your new bike looks the biz!
Nice choice Steve as a Ktm 1290 GT owner ( a very happy one having had two of them ) this is the one bike that could tempt me away 😁. I’ll be interested in your thoughts after a trip and a few rides 👍
Both great bikes and will give you a mention when I do that comparison. In fact it's a good topic for a short vid. Where are you based as could meet up and do a side by side
Nice one Steve. been following your channel as you moved from SDGT to V4s (I have both) so keen to hear your thoughts and whether this could maybe replace both my V4s and GT. Have fun in IoM 👍
As i say on the vid it feels more like the GT than the V4s but polished and comfortable. The V4s is super smooth wheres the PP let's you feel the road underneath you without being hard like a sportsbike. I've done a few miles but 1st impressions are very good indeed
Hi Steve , how did you find the smoked screen extra protection etc. , was it the Ducati OEM touring screen with the letterbox in the same as the standard one you had?
No it doesn’t look smoked , there was an earlier comment advising yout to add a smoked touring screen , I'm sure you responded saying yours had a light smoke, in later videos they all look clear and standard size not the taller height touring item, was just unsure if you had fitted one and didn’t like it , thanks for reply 😊
Hi Steve , thanks for the video, I pick up my new V4s in two weeks. Can you advise the feeling from the brakes was it exactly the same after parts replaced by dealer? Do you think it might have been isolated to your bike as I've not heard of this issue previously .
You know what, until I had the problem I was never conscious of the brake feel. It was only afterwards and after the née master cylinder was fitted I became aware. For that reason I believe it was a unique case with my fault. I wouldn't hesitate getting your V4 at all as it is an amazing bike.
@@alistairballoch8821 I think you're right but Ive always had sports bikes and like the feel of the brake grabbing the disc as soon as I pull on the lever. The spongy feel makes e feel uncomfortable when riding with pace.
Went from both 900 Tracers, standard and GT,to the 700cc,and i don't miss the big bike, running around Scotland, ideal size for our roads! Never tried it with a cat, have Arrows downpipes, open can on both bikes I've had, with a K&N and an airbox lid conversion! Cruise is available, from McCruise (MT07). Handguards/indicators location is a f/up,try fitting Fatbars...
Swingarm aside, the bike overall is very ugly for a Ducati. Honda, BMW, Yamaha can get away with bikes that don't have a strong focus on design and aesthetics, but Ducati can't. All the performance upgrades and refinements are amazing, but very few people buy sport bikes based on those things, most of us buy sport bikes based on their looks.
Hi Steve can you tell me how you find the range you're getting from the Ducati ? I'm thinking of buying one put people are telling me it's very thirsty . Many thanks Gary.
It is very thirsty if you rag it. Taking it easy I get 40mpg +. Track days I get sub 30. Smiles per miles is the best ever. Expect 180 - 200 miles per tank, after that I'm due a stop anyway.
