We tent camped for 15 years then moved up to a pop up camper with a ac. Loved it. Then went to a 27 foot travel trailer. To big sold it and went back to a pop up with a shower and potty. Loved it. Now that we are older we have a 25 foot. But now, as we are even older and im having to do yhe driving wearegoing a hair smaller. We love camping. Hope you'll will too. There are small ac.

Another tip for starting out on a budget: try hitting thrift stores, garage sales, and online market places. Trust me when I say, people are constantly upgrading, so there are deals out there, and make sure to watch for sales.
For the portable potty, I got a pop up which takes 15 seconds to set up. I use a different style portable collapsible potty with a lid that looks like an ottoman. Also, instead of hauling heavy litter or other bulky stuff, I use the nontoxic biodegrable powder that turns waste into gel and eliminates odor. Bottom line, there are so many styles and choices to consider what works best for you. I'm getting ready for my first camping trip this fall with my dog. I'll be getting a ppop up tent and canopy and setting up in my backyard and we'll be doing trial runs out there to make sure he can do the camping thing.
NIKKI GO TO Google Earth map and check the campsite before you book. It's a very useful tool. It lets you check out the site for trees parking space and a lot more. Also just a fyi you can get a little room air conditioner and put in your in doorway. Also no shate get a canopy to create your own shade.
Its called a groundcover...that acts as a water barrier and protect tent from tears or pokes. Tarp is a common vrohndcover. ⁵ Yoga mat style matierial is good for inside especially with just a sleeping bag

I just found your channel and am enjoying watching your videos. My family and I have been camping before in cabins, but now I want to try tent camping. Thank you for all the great tips and tricks. There are several campgrounds not far from where we are that we would like to try. Keep traveling and camping, save travels, bless you!!!
New subbie here. I started tent camping in April and taking my 2nd trip this month or Sept. I went with my daughter and we had a really good time. I agree with you about camping neighbors. We were next to two families who drove from S.C. They invited us over to make s'mores and sit around the fire. I've got to invest in the bathroom tent and portable toilet. I bought a 4-person tent and also invested in the 6-8 person tent because my son will join us on the next trip. My oldest brother and SIL have been camping for about 30 years, and they live out west. Best believe I was bugging him every other day before my trip. We had everything covered, and I felt like a pro setting up.😂 Can't wait to see more of your journey ❤
