Coach Cantello was the singular person who was instrumental in helping me to establish the Navy Run Jump n Throw program for boys and girls with or without a disability. I will also be indebted to him for his friendship and his help to me over many years.
RIP Captain Bellino. My dad was a year behind you at the Academy(class of 62) and I had the privilege of growing up and hearing stories about you. Godspeed.
*Back in the day, those of us that had been accepted by Admiral Rickover into the Submarine Nuclear Power program - assignment to Submarine School or Nuclear Power School was all tken care of before Selection Night.* *s/ Retired 24 Year US Navy Submariner - USNA Class of 1965 - Former Enlisted Man*
It's great to see such excitement and enthusiasm in the young me and women of the U.S. Navy. It's also good to see so many African Americans choosing careers in the U.S. Navy as an officer.
She didn't realize what she was saying asking him what he was most proud of. Kolat is a personal hero of mine - and I think anyone familiar with him or his story knows this guy has intense regret and bitterness towards his inability to win a world or Olympic title. He is certainly the greatest wrestler to never achieve those titles officially, and it seemed as the universe conspired against him in that way. Although I've said many times that he is the best example of why you need to focus on the process and not outcomes - as a philosophy for wrestling and life. That you can do everything correct and lose, and do everything wrong and still manage to win. Obviously doing the right things increases your chances of winning - but it does not guarantee it. So, the philosophy of focusing on pride in the effort - is what I learned from Cary. Obviously all the best -- as a former Naval Academy Alumni - I'm excited to have him in the program. I will be sending my son up in the summers to train at the camps.
You miss out not posting games or at least highlights. It's free recruitment and advertising. Plus ESPN + doesn't even have volume showing some of your games.
Congratulations!!! If you are stationed in greater Chicagoland area I would like to contact you for High School presentation - to encourage students and would like to do a day visit at Great Lake Navy Base if you are station there. Due to COVID can we do a live virtual meet during our school year as someone you should know - during class - African American Female Navy/Engineer -
Such an awful loss for humanity when that shuttle went down. Watching pre flight interviews you could tell all of them were such down to earth great people.
