@rebelresource Thanks!!! I think the title scroll was a mistake because a lot of people couldn't make it through, but otherwise I tried to keep it quite busy!
SWU is a great game but the distribution issues are killing it in many areas. In my area, we had about 100 people interested in playing but between all the local stores we only received product for about 12 people. When more stock arrived it was just two boxes and that was it. Set 2 was better but it also run out fairly quickly. With not way to bring in new players, the local play group is down to 3-4 players. Set 3 is going to be fun but the game is not really going to be even able to recover in my city till the full reprints arrive sometime in January.
It was similar everywhere near me as well!! It's just about stabilized now but they need to get ready for the next batch of new players. I happen to know the prequel era will lure in some new faces, they need product available asap
The distribution issues seem to have been resolved with set 2 and now set 3. I think they increased the print run by a lot. I agree the local playgroups have dwindled. I think if LGS's had better prizing for locals it would be fine - the OP packs did not have strong cards in them like set 1 OP packs did,
@@rebelresource The set 2 supply in my area was just enough to support the existing player base but not enough to really bring in new players. For constructed play you really want key set 1 cards and those are virtually impossible to get here without spending a fortune. At the set 2 prerelease we had at least a dozen brand new players but none of them continued with it in an organized fashion. My LGS really wants to promote the game but their hands are tied.
I watched full days of content about the game and still cant figure out, what role deck construction really plays. From outside, it seems like the game is more or less a preconstructed deck format with a very little amount of creativity in comparison to games like magic. I am a huge deckbuilding geek - and while I love the fnb idea, it feels like the high amount of heros and the legacy system, interfere with what I am looking for. Am I correct with this observation, or is deck building a comparable element to MTG.. defining new metas, new combos, new ideas.. happy to get an answer.
Deck construction is a huge aspect of the game. Precons are ok for learning or casual play, same as any other TCG, but won't cut it for competition. Because of the nature of the game, you don't have some archtypes (not yet at least) like Combo/aristocrats etc. You aren't likely to get a turn 2 win with combo. It's a huge toolbox style card pool, especially when accounting for sideboards, so people are constantly experimenting with different cards and game-plans, which is why it's exciting when crazy lists come out of nowhere and win events. As mentioned, you will often go through your entire deck at least once, so every card choice matters. A lot I could say but this is a RU-vid comment not an essay hahaha
@@SalemGamorrah I am thankful for this answer, I was just checking decklists and compared to statsites like mtgtop8 the card pools of specific heroes looked fully equal to me and the system of printing a new display for specific "heroes" seemed to me, like there is huge control over the meta and desired outcome after each display, rather than giving all heroes new cards and let their own creativity solve the meta. Guess I have to try it and give it a shot.
MTG is the cheapest card game option, easily. You can buy bulk for dirt, and cube draft in all infinity. None in my play group but me owns cards but we play every week. Due to limited play. We even draft commander. Competitive play is always expensive and every tcg is. Even F&B
Verdance looks beautiful, and as an MTG player it’s cool to see the graveyard being utilised in a wider capacity! As a noob this video gave a great overview of the set
Being a longtime/lifetime Magic player I enjoy the competative 1v1 play of FAB far better then Magic’s. Magic has become my multiplayer format whereas FAB holds my competative focus.
Incredible tcg, been having a lot of fun with it and encourage others to give it a try. Players of the Big 3 tcgs should be happy to see healthy competition, as it benefits them
In my opinion, the best TCG that no one has heard of is Battle Spirits/ Battle Spirits Saga and Flesh and Blood is 2nd. All 3 are top teir but most people have never heard of them or aren't willing or able to start playing.
Been looking into FaB since dropping Yugioh and one concern I have is “pay to win”, that is if you’re not running the most expensive cards you’re gonna get stomped over and over again. doesn’t seem to be the case with FaB from what I can see though
There are some expensive cards in the game if you want to play at the absolute highest level, but most of them aren't that huge of a difference and the better player will usually win even if you pay more than them. Apply the 'player skill' multiplier to every card because there aren't many free wins in FAB.
Your videos are amazing, you got such a calming and yet interesting style of narrating. I wish I could already binge watch 100 of your videos, I hope you are doing great and that you find some more time to upload 😊
upper deck ent's" Maverl DC vs system", 2004 edition is my #1 ! emmerlaus was my 1st in 1996-97. my #2 Lorcana, for the fun ... #3 mtg.....but cuz i'm starting mtg in 2024. cuz of that it's not as fun as Lorcana for the playing field with mtg vets at my Lgs enjoying Lorcana too. they run flesh&blood as well.
Sadly, it's incredibly off-putting to me in terms of theming. Like, two characters fighting? That's it? Just doesn't resonate with me. Can't be bothered to learn about the game mechanics due to it.
As a huge fan of magic the gathering I got to say f&b looks so fun and I would love to get into it but getting into 2 card games seems a bit hard as a broke student, what would be the cost of entry for a average well performing deck?
@woqu99 You can get a decent deck for 100-200. A competitive deck is anywhere from 400-800 generally if you want to go pro! The Armory decks they sell are effective straight out the box for LGS events and probably only need 100 or so bucks to upgrade them nicely! So depends on your goal.
@@woqu99You can also try the commoner format of FaB, a commoner deck usually costs between 8-15 dollars for full potential. One of the most expensive cards i can think in commoner is "sink below", which costs 2 dollars each, but is a good investment for other game formats too. Not sure if everyone likes commoner tho, my attempts at finding opponents for commoner in Talishar (FaBtcg fanmade online version) always failed.
Gonna be honest here I love the game play of this game the back and forth is super fun and interactive BUT I do not recommend this game to casuals. The prices of these cards are insane and they fluctuate more than I’ve ever seen in any TCG. The game is competitive and I personally did not find it to be casual friendly at all. Expect bans nowadays that are meant to bring down powerful hero’s but at the same time screw over another hero. Katsu no longer able to run some cool stuff cause of new ninja dude. I gave up on this game as its was one of the worst money pits I’ve experienced. Only recommend this game for people who take tcgs seriously and want to tourney
I do agree to an extent on price. One of the benefits of Flesh and Blood though is that the majority of expensive cards are expensive because can be used in multiple decks. Big startup cost, but once you have what you need, the upkeep is minimal. I play competitively, stick to three classes, and haven't spent more than $100 on cards this year. I fully agree on casual play though. The game is designed so that better players will win more than in other TCGs. In magic, you can get wins because your opponent's deck decided to give them only lands for multiple turns and that just doesn't happen in FaB. I'm really hoping for a good casual format because I do feel bad seeing new players just get run over.
This video randomly appeared in my recommended and while I dunno if I will get into this game, you sure are selling it well. Also, your narration voice is too good for you to have under 1000 subs
The game is one thing. Its great from the looks the peops playing have on their faces. Even im more in the collector corner i cant get enough of the videos, tournaments and coverage and its company. Beautiful minds here. Join in if you feel like this attracts you even just next to your main tcg. This game wants you to be happy and have fair and square fights. which btw 99 percent are not onesided.
Amazing video... truly. Seems like its as always mostly watched by FaB players/fans tho. Please algorythm sama, bring this to the people. They deserve it. ❤
Fantastic video! I used to be a avid MTG player, but I've personally been playing FaB for over 8 months now with my partner and we've barely looked back, even though the game is quite different.
