Is it too much at all? I’m looking to get a 3-3.5, I already have a 20 inch 2.5 rope so wanna get this one at 22” I’m only about 5’4” so not too big. Would the 3.5 look too big you think? Or what’s your opinion on the presence of the 3?

Awesome chain. I'll be getting mine next year (it's taking me that long to save). 18 inch or 20 inch for me. 14KT. Thanks for posting the video.

18 or 20 might be to small..... you don’t want it coming out of your shirt all the time.... I got lucky and I wear mine everyday.

@@joseramos5519 I'm also female, so I think that matters too. Doesn't it? I think the chain would lay on the chest differently depending on gender. At least, that's what I'm assuming. Then again, maybe a 22 inch is the way to go.

My piper archer needs a cutoff milk container scoop when i retract the filter to stop oil dribbles left in the ( angled) filter......does the Bo come out drip free?
@joseramos5519
@joseramos5519 4 года назад
If you put holes in filter and let drain overnight.... no dribbles.

The filter has a set torque value.......you can shred the gasket doing that!

@@adana4670 The 3.5 is really nice. Not too thick not too thin. About 60 grams so it has some weight to it. You would be happy if you get it imho 😉

You should have noted how much to turn the filter to get the torque correct. I use my hand to set the torque. You then can never over-torque it. You can also use ¾ turn after it hits the gasket

I have the "wrench" he is using and it is a special purpose click style torque wrench specifically made for oil filters. You can see in the video the wrench clicking, indicating correct torque.

Thanks for comment.... I like your videos!!!! The safety wire is very tight.... in the video looks loose but it’s tight. I do have hard time putting it on... I think my safety wire technique needs improvement.... I’ll work on that.
@BonanzaBart
@BonanzaBart 6 лет назад
No problem. I am not trying to beat you up but point out that if A&P saw this, he would like have you start over. The hole for the wire is behind the filter so you need to route the wire before you put on the filter. It is definitely little tricky. Good luck!

Nice video, I do prefer not to have the engine drained for so long and cold once I do change to new oil, I prefer it heated up and drain for 15 min or so, so some old oil will mix with the new one, but instead I do prefer mixing oils, new and old , but start the engine while still very well lubricated with the old one, to avoid a dry start that may lead to some wear. And if changed every 30 hours old is almost new, we experience some problems starting engines stored and dried for long... But that’s just my point of view. Thanks for your video! You do tidy and easy, nice job

I'm sorry to rain on your parade but your safety wiring is wrong. The safety wire needs to be routed through a hole on the base of the filter housing. There is a special hole/eyelet for that very purpose on the engine. The way to do this properly is to run the safety wire through that hole BEFORE you install the filter. Then you can install the filter and safety the wire properly. Ensure that the safety wire has enough twists and it is properly terminated/looped. It needs to be really tight against the filter and look respectable. It takes some practice to do this right.

terrible safety job, its not even doing anything, plus the whole engine oil passages and prop governor assy are still full of dirty oil that will pollute all that nice clean oil at start up. Amazing how even guys with money still cut corners on one of the best airplanes ever built. Dont have to do the multi day wait stupidity to drain oil, just drain it, put ""three new qts in"", start it up idle only and cycle prop, drain the rest of the garbage oil out you left in there, replace filter and fill it, now you got a real oil change that will stay cleaner much longer. Yes dummy you had to use three extra qts of oil to do it right but your a Bonanza owner so quit whining like a little girl.
