Welcome to the Dirtbag Outdoors RU-vid Channel! I love all things outdoors, but you will find a strong emphasis on firearms, shooting, and the 2a industry as a whole! Reviews, tests, comparisons, and good conversations can be found here!
Your time is too valuable. Just put it out for sale with a sign that says "Ugly discount special!". Price it for any profit over what you bought it for and it'll be gone soon, especially if you drop the price 10 bucks per day. Or if you're like an old-old-school gun store you probably know of or have a list of regular clients who would buy almost Any gun, if it was at a low enough price.
If nothing else works you can try bead blasting it with backing soda. It’s very fine abrasive won’t eat into the plastic much, just be careful or try a green scour pad To rough it up then paint it black.
Mineral spirits, paint thinner, or acetone. Those should work pretty good. Still might have to use a lil elbow grease. I know MEK will work. I use that stuff at work sometimes, but it’s a pretty harsh chemical and it will break down softer plastics and rubber. Definitely will want to wear the proper gloves when using any of them, especially MEK.
I’ve painted and stripped multiple guns. I just use graffiti remover in a spray can from Home Depot. Works everytime and no sanding. It just bubbles up and peels off!
Same it and stipple it. Not hard and won’t hurt it at all. I have a few shorts about it but they aren’t organized unfortunately. I usually use 600 or higher and put a light sand that will take top coat off. Then I stipple it and come back with 1500 or higher. There are certain things you could use like clear plumbing primer that will take the paint off anything but you have to be careful how much you use because it’s highly corrosive. If I were you I’d just lightly sand some spots and have an unintentional camo.
