Channel 8 could have done worse....they could have had "Hello News", also from Frank Gari. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Q2ocvYVLnh0.html
I was there in 1982, and 1983. I remember how most stations took five seconds or less to do the half hourly identification, and this one was an entire song.
I see that you even included the positvely New Jersey song for the NJ PBS/NJN sign off, even though I don’t have that station myself as I live in the dc area, but I have heard that song was very legendary.
I hope y'all will reply to this a year after the Orange Bowl victory Jimmy Johnson would coach my Dallas Cowboys and restore them to their winning ways
It's in your style The friendly way you smile In the way that you live so much to give Tampa Bay, Tampa Bay It's there for you To share the things you do Cause your spirit of life fills the air Tampa Bay, Tampa Bay You're giving everything you've got to give with a special kind of way you feel There's a magic in the air and it's there no matter where you go Tampa Bay The spirit comes shining through I knew I'd put it all in you Channel 8 The Spirit of Tampa Bay
I’m watching the Rose Bowl and started playing my video in the living room. It just fits perfectly instead of the boring and redundant theme (Da-Da-Da-Da….Da-Da-Da-Da) that ESPN uses. One day NBC will pay to dethrone ESPN for the rights to some of the New Year’s Bowl games and playoffs.
From what i read, the Card Sharks Perry episodes when it first reran in Syndicated where when The show moved to 12 Noon slot on NBC, But many NBC affiliates replaced Card Sharks with either their own programming or local news.
Up until October 1981 yes. But for the 1982-83 TV season, Firestone productions distributed Card Sharks reruns to TV stations across the country. WFLA never showed Card Sharks when it was on NBC only the syndicated reruns.
Yes. Many Mark Goodson game shows had reruns syndicated after they ended their network or syndicated runs. This, Family Feud, and Match Game come to mind.
I must say that I highly enjoyed this particular sign-off. The montage of students, the wonderful music, and the delivery of the voiceover brings peace to me.
WESH went the natural peaceful scenery path with relaxed music to boot. Their sign on was with the boat in the Atlantic at sunrise, using the same music. Notice that WFTV’s example comes from their Analog Signoff (At approximately 1:00 PM, 6-12-09). There has not been a WFTV sign off from the 80s-1990s found. Yet…
For some reason cincinnati, San Francisco just has so much nostalgic I hope to get bengals vs 49er's part3 love to see this I the both cities wouldn't have it any other way
I remember a story of Kathleen Moan a young former Ms America contestant who was murdered in her own Lancaster County home. She was stalked by an enraged ex and predatorily attacked and assaulted after she was murdered. That was back in 1999 IIRC because it was NBC10’s coldest of cold cases at that time.
In those days, ALL the great games, important games, were on TV from noon to midnight january 1st. NBC, ABC, and CBS with 7-8 games on the first day of the new year. Pizza, Coke, pop corn, chocolat bars, etc. I need a time machine!
Thank you for compiling all of these beautiful and funny commercials by Publix. I no longer live in Florida, and miss Publix. They have the cleanest stores, and friendliest employees.
