Thinking of adding a throttle body. Paragon offers two different sizes of Soler throttle bodies. How would you know which size to use on a C8 Stingray?
Spent the afternoon installing this thing. What a job. For me anyways. Just trying to figure out how to keep the sending unit away from the gas pedal and tie up to something. There if no room to get under the dash to look underneath. it. I thought some velcro would stick to the carpet. Nope. Love to see a video on how you got the wiring away from the gas pedal.
In one video the guy said you don’t even need the controller in the car after you connect to the app. That would save the placement problem if this is true.
I had one on my C7Z and my mechanic (who didnt know I had one) said "this is the most responsive C7 I've ever driven!" I'm ordering one today as my C8Z is a little hesitant off the start.
So where’s a good place to mount the unit in the C8 if you do t want to depend on the app and want to see it? It’s very small so shouldn’t take up much room but there isn’t much room on the C8 for extras. Good video.
I had a GT3 991.2. These cars aren’t drag cars. The turbos, the gt cars or the Z06 . They belong on a road track. This is like using a funny car at Laguna Seca
You don’t even have 500 miles on it yet! I waited till I had 1k miles, look up the C8 that blew at 52 miles! You really need to break the engine in longer!
Good video on the install. I don't think there's any way you're getting 11 more hp though....maybe a few. 11hp just by swapping a filter would be crazy and it would be pretty sad if GM engineers wouldn't have figured that out initially.
You have another subscriber. Great content. I used to have a supercharged C7 Z51 A8 and now a C6 next to Tesla Model S Plaid. I ran st Orlando Speedworld back when TRC had that event last Feb. Rolling race i did 8.0 at 149. Definitely should be in the 7's at 150+
My mechanic thought it was best just tucking the unit behind the dash since you can make all the changes with an app. Most people would just leave it around 50%.
Excellent video, as always! I just installed mine yesterday, took less than an hour, didn't remove the carpeting, just folded it back... I did put a towel down just in case I lost a bolt when taking off the filter cover..
I love Porsche but why are all the fanboys acting like Porsche INVENTED all wheel drive lol. No doubt the Turbo S is badass but it’s definitely not winning a drag race because of some top secret cutting edge German engineering, it’s just all wheel drive lol.
What is wrong with OEM pedal and the new Soler throttle body?? Response seems fine to me - I like to Keep It Simple and minimize potential electronic problems
What is the point? Who buys a C8 Corvette and puts performance mods on it - and is concerned with saving gas? just one more electronic device to breakdown or throw codes-the Soler throttle body increases throttle response enough for me - NO thanks
Three years later and I found this video... I bought the attack blue air filter ... Installed it today because of your DIY video! Thank You! One Tip: Do Not Drop your air filter box bolt(s) cuz will go straight down under the engine and get lost somewhere on the plates... You might not find them again. I told myself I was going to be super careful when putting the air box bolts back in... BUT... I dropped one... Had to use an extended flexible magnet to find it ... Luckily I found it!
I’m sorry I just don’t like the sound of the flat plane cranks I owned a Ferrari F430 and it just sounded OK to me I won’t buy the z06 for that reason. I prefer the grunt of American muscle. That’s why I’ve had the ZL1 the C8 stingray and the GT500 and the GT 350
