Hello Something I have been in search for quite sometime is a connection with somebody that goes beyond vanity. It's very hard to do in this day and age. People can be, somewhat very superficial. On my quest to achieve this I have learnt a lot about human nature. It seems to me that those who are not given traits such as beauty or being wealthy are some of the nicest, kindest and generous people. While the "gorgeous" and well off seem to be the most arrogant and greedy people out there. Of course that's not to say there aren't beautiful kind people out there. I've been in the process of change for a while now and I have made some decent changes but don't you just hate it when people can't let go of your past mistakes. I saw your profile and it intrigued me. I wanted to learn more about who you are and what type of path you would like on in life. Can we talk?
Just a side note: many people have complain that Gary was never a Kuk Sool Won. Everything what goodridge says is a Lie according to some people claimes he is not a real kuk sool won fighter or a master. Just saying
Anyone who's done actual fighting knows that most of this stuff is just fancy nonsense. The only real bit of fighting I saw was at 3:03, and that just looked like kick boxing. It is good for body core training, balance, and leg strength though...
It's an act for a demo, in reality a strike on top of the head disrupts neural firing patterns and you get dizzy or can even pass out. can't do the technique for real in a demo. In a demo all techniques are performed with the safety of everyone in mind, can't go torquing on a elbow or arm and cause serious injury, so it's played up a bit.
I had the honor of studying Kuk Sool Won in my teenage years, I met Master Sims attended seminar with kuk Sa Nym. I love this system and the people who practice it. I dislike Creed but the first line of the 1st verse hit me watching this, "Hello my friend we meet again" It has been far too many years since I tied my belt around my waist and I miss it every day. Sadly I moved to a place that doesn't have a KSW Dojang.
These internet martial artists are such a joke for Laughing at Kuk Sool Won. Have they ever trained with Kuk Sa Nym or any Master for that matter? Like Master Sims, or Harmon, or Timmerman, or Lee etc. I don't intend to feed the trolls but to correct their mis information. Family and tribal martial arts are the most ancient obviously, and Royal court martial arts and Buddhist techniques also existed in Korea from an early time. I'm neither Korean or Japanese but I'm well aware of their history and rivalry, which is where these uninformed comments stem from I believe. Kuk sool is a very real martial art and brings together the mind, body, and spirit. Healing techniques, filial piety, and respect for life are all part of it's history and intrinsic to it's techniques and philosophy. There is more to it then just fighting techniques. I gratefully received my black belt in 1994 and became an instructor. I respect all martial arts and believe all true martial artists have mutual respect rather than rivalry which stems from insecurity and the desire to topple or defeat those who hold a dominant position. There are many effective and dominant traditional martial arts including Kuk Sool. None are "better" than the other. It's up to the practitioner to be better than himself..Yu Won Hwa=soft, circle, together. Kuk Sool!
Paul Brennan I had done kuk sool won for a very long time and I know my grounds in the Martial art but the reason why I quit it and people don't like it is because a lot of the techniques are not really realistic. Like I remember when I first went to my lesson and this person completely flipped another person over his shoulder but with the other persons assistance of course but that would never happen in a real fight. I love kuk sool won I just feel like the martial art itself isn't really that good.
Master Marlon Sims, Head fight instructor at West Point. Chief Master of Kuk Sool Won and one hell of a awesome, honorable man. He would completely destroy any of these internet black belts. I had the privilege of training under Master Sims twice when we visited West Point for a tourny.
Man I remember those fights that used to only be ppv or we watched them on tape when video rental places got them. I'm not that old but started watching UFC1 or when we just called it "Ultimate Fighting". We were Ultimate Fighting fans before UFC fans and Tap Out shirts started appearing. LOL The juice era, well they still juice and gear up now but it's all regulated now unlike back then and Kimo and Ken were just completely jacked.
Goodridge does not know any KSW. A school just gave him a belt and he wore the uniform in UFC. Look up his interviews where he has stated this numerous times. No KSW person has ever fought in UFC.
Sick video! I love the old footage of Kuk Sa Nim and the other Masters in the early stages of Kuk Sool in America. Great compilation. It pumped me up lol.
@Cuffy Bigglesworth No offense, but you have know clue what your talking about. Gary Goodridge was given a 4th degree black belt just so he could represent them and bring more money to kuk sool after he beat up the guy they where going to send. He openly says he only did kuk sool about two times if that. You might want to do your research. In any case kuk sool is a fancy dance to make a lot of money, while filling there students with a false confidence. Just a big Mcdojo
You are a silly person who has no clue what they are talking about. First of all Gary Goodridge learned a few techniques and was given an HONOURARY black belt from a friend of his that had a KUK SOOL school in Canada, he was not even representing his friends art either he wore that uniform out of thanks and respect for his friend, that school and instructor have nothing to do with the kuk sool association (kuk sool won), i.e what is being represented in this video. Prince Charles was presented with an HONOURARY black belt from kuk sool won, is he now a kuk sool won martial artist? And when you start calling kuk sool won a dance and make statements like "most of the techniques wont work on a resisting??????????? person" then you just rienforce my view that you have at a push,.......3 brain cells, maybe 4?-? and that they don't function together all that often. You have absolutely no idea about the techniques compiled in kuk sool won or their non effectiveness on resisting????????????? attackers.
I agree with you man Kuk sool won does work it’s just this guy talking nonsense has no idea what someone who knows kuk sool can do, it is a amazing martial arts
FAKE!!! Am i the only one that see's it?! Notice at 1:00 he taps his chest, then proceeds to deliver hellacious elbows to the head. Reminds me of WWE shit. The head and body movements from the strikes seem like a bit much. Almost too good to be true.
Nah, you're talking absolute rubbish. His body movements will be a bit much because he is KO'd and does not have control over his movements i.e putting up resistance.
This is the closest thing to a scene in a 80's martial arts film you will ever see.....You know its not gonna end well for the white guy. Gary looks effortless as he destroys him then the celebration topps it off!! Classic
GoldenPimp Sorry but that doesn't cut it. Back then it was open. Don't want to eat a shit ton of elbows to the head? Don't shoot for the legs of a guy who outweighs you by 70 lbs. EVERY scrawny person knows that. LOLOLOLOL Goodridge was a total moron tactically in this fight.
I do not get why in fights people will instantly try to go for the take down... even in street fights.. Thats so easy for the other person just keep u hunched over getting fucked up...
LOL. that is right. I agree with you. I practice MMA and BJJ but have a background in Kick Boxing and Traditional Martial Arts. Most MMA people talking shit about TMA are just TapOut Fat fan boys. People who truly practice MMA now days is always respectful of traditional martial arts for their approach philosophy and techniques.
