Beautiful presentation. Lovly music- raag hamsadhwani - which translates to hamsa= swan, dhwani= sound/ tune. I wish this is presented as documentary. Today, people buy new cloth ( and fabric stores accross the world sell fresh matched pieces) to make patchwork quilts! Isn't this an irony!!

Beautifull work. I just wish that they were paid a fair price (compared to western labour) an Indian worker earns less a month than an average seemstress in Denmark earns a day! Who are getting the biggest cut of the surplus? Not the hardworking Indian worker.
Thanks for your comment, Kristen. My continuing research shows that many quilters in India are getting paid fair wages. Thanks to the many NGOs who have help cut out the exploitative middleman. In many cases the quilters are meeting directly with the customers without bargaining.
