The swiss stages is good with me. The only change I will make is only two teams per region. For example top 2 teams who made it to their region finals like Lck Gen g, Hle, who made their region finals And team liquid, fly quest esports. That way minor regions can send in two teams and the major reasons won't have advantage. I know it sounds stupid and crazy is just my opinion.

The sad part for me was that G2 didn't win. The draws were hard and I thought to myself - ok, no better team than G2 to win those...but they just didn't. And that's the thing the players themselves speak about a lot - you can't cherry pick easy draws and weak opponents. If you can't win against most teams you can't get far and you certainly can't lift the trophy. G2 just found out early. Ofc I'll support my team and think that they are the best in the west, but I don't want that to mean "best of the rest". Compete with the east. Contend. If Fly pulls it off in quarters then they are not only best in the west but one of the best there is in general. I wish them the best, all the way from Europe. Always loved Inspired and Bwipo, and that Massu guy is playing truly marvelous. Go get them!
TL was pretty disappointing this tourney. shoutout fly tho. big fan of massu as he seems v chill and can consistently preform internationally. just hoping for at least 1 good game from this GenG series 🙏🙏
Speaking of lucky draws. Mad lions anyone, they had two playins teams with one they beat to get into Swiss and losed to both. So they had a very easy draws. Also massu and yeon give me hope in our adcs.. As for tournament I wish they go with ncaa March madness style brackets and use the power rankings as seatings. So top 4 as 1 seeds vs the lowest seeds b01 or b03 till elite 8 then b05s.

Never doubted 'em, ain't gonna start now! FLY wins vs GenG let's gooo! Shame TL crumbled under the Worlds pressure this year, but lol at all the people who hated on me for simply saying my pick'ems had TL and FLY making it through but not G2.
I think as the power rankings get more data, they will be more useful for future Worlds - especially with the initial seeding for round one. However, another simple solution that I don't see many people throwing out: Don't allow region mirror matchups unless its mathematically impossible to avoid. That should stand for every round of Swiss; people watch Worlds to see cross-regional showdowns, not domestic rematches of series we've seen multiple times throughout the year. Was the TL/FLY series a cool finale to their 2024 rivalry? Sure. Would it have been cooler in quarterfinals? Definitely. Would more international fans be happier with the draw if NA didn't have to play themselves to advance? 100%. But hey, FLY made it through fair and square - don't hate the players, hate the game. Excited to see them rep the LCS in quarterfinals while EU watches from their couches (again).
I'd be interested to see the complications that could be cause if we blocked region-matchups outside of when it can't be avoid Sunday will be fun regardless!
I hate the anti GAM and anti PSG narratives that are only used against LCS. These regions have millions of players in the playerbase, and have pretty every single year had a result against major regions including lpl and lck, including against BLG this year. Like LCK clearly is the best historic region, and LPL frequently pushes them, but it's not like these teams never lose ever.

1:24 I dont actually think we got complacent. I think we hired the wrong ppl. Its not that there was no content at all (at least in the beginning), its that we didnt hire ppl that knew what they were doing.
Agreed that it's a hiring problem but even the best in the business weren't innovating at all There were some bigger names that are still in the entertainment space doing incredible things and it was clear that once 2019 hit they just chilled. COVID hurt it for sure as teams struggled to figure out what to do an individual creators took off, but still
This draw is kinda ass for T1 as well as FLY. Most of T1's losses since forming this roster have come from Gen G, and they are on the same side as them. In my opinion, it would have been a perfect draw if the HLE vs BLG game and T1 vs TES swapped places.
I mean why does T1 deserve an easier draw than the teams on the other side? Like HLE have contested GenG much more than T1 this year, they deserve to be on the other side of the bracket
I hope TL doesnt take the "failure" at worlds too hard and lose their content creation spirit. We know they're keeping the same roster, so hopefully these guys keep making banger content for us and bringing in more fans because we love every member of this team ❤
I've spoke with their content production team before: can assure that the people there won't let that happen and if it did, something even bigger is wrong

Imagine being an NA fan and hate how one auto qualifies. Neither of those teams will beat WBG, DK, or BLG and without this system TL and FLY don't get this far only beating international teams.
who cares if it’s NA vs NA? We are guaranteed top 8 which 12 other teams in this tournament couldn’t do. History only remembers the winners. Also we have made top 8 two years in a row that’s pretty hype.
I actually don't hate the draw at all. For some reason everybody wants NA to get an upset win to get out of Swiss. It would be WAY more hype to get an upset win in quarters. This guarantees that chance. If we get stomped in quarters I don't really care if we got an upset win along the way or not.
