Let’s not forget that dune take a loot of place in arrakis and there’s other planet with different metropoles and structures, the main reason they don’t have technology on arrakis is because of the weather they also can’t use laser weapons because of shields, if a laser shot a shield it will create a nuclear explosion, and that’s because of all of those things that you don’t see that much technology on dune/arrakis
Half the American people have already forgotten about the totalitarianism their grandparents fought against and will probably for defendant trump, a big fan of hitler… so it’s pretty optimistic to think humans would remember anything over thousands of years ago
Also theoretically someone in-universe could build their own thinking machine, but it’d be like someone right building their own. No real potential for harm, and they’d be heavily punished if they were found out. You need a system of thinking machines to cause the harm seen in humanity being controlled by a robot God. And you also need a system of people to help you build one as well (if you wanted to build your own computer completely by yourself it would be incredibly difficult).
Idk I think that's bs and would be a cool plot to have Imagine a sector of humanity content with the idea of saving the universe and humanity, and decides to weaponize AI to create a planet wide military force. The lack of its use sounds like lazy writing and a lack of realization of how speratic impulsive foolishness and hatred that can persist and brew in the wisest of warriors
The Warhammer 40k universe has the same principle. There was a massive galaxy spanning war against AI and humanity won and made it wildly illegal and enforced by severe punishment
Same reason you don't see a lot of droids in later starwars, bc what seemed like a golden age in technological advances and politics shifted into a galaxy spanding war between mostly cloned humans and droids. By the fall of the republic, creating either of those instruments of war clones or droids seemed way too barbaric or terrifyingly unpredictable
I have been thinking of such new developments in healthcare that will benefit woman of course each woman have a choice. Those who encountered pregnancy complications will have ease of mind and hope.
