What if there is no ample space for running but enough resources and still sometimes kids run. Also, they stack the toys and keep throwing them. My TA is mostly busy with toilets so when am doing focused activity, the rest of the children are roaming here and there and sometimes fighting over a toy. Whats the best environment with pre K in classroom? Should they be sitting and playing calmlt all the day? if not, How to manage with TA?
This is so true! One of the afternoon teachers has started giving a few of my students who are currently potty training and M&M every time they go to the potty. I tried asking her to please not do this because I’ve noticed that a couple of them are saying they went to the potty when they actually haven’t just to get an M&M. I also asked her to please try to not do that because I want them to realize that going to the bathroom is something everybody does and when you get to be a big kid, you just do it. No one else is getting a prize for going potty. That was something I stuck with with my own kids too. And they both were potty trained very quickly. One thing I know I for sure need to work on is expecting them to understand things. I’ve had to really slow down and simplify what I’m saying and make sure that it’s clear to them and I’m not just talking like one of the grown-ups on Charlie Brown. Lol
What do you do when you have a student who screams words during circle time? He's 5, he can talk by his age range, he used to have selective mutism. The parents aren't cooperative and say he doesn't scream at home.
Hi dear what shall we do when a well behaved child all of sudden on his birthday turns into a totally different child and now makes a habit of those actions in everyday
I finished my class assignment by giving an English class to the first-year children in a local kindergarten today. When I did my reflection, I watched your video and I reflected really deeply on myself. And I regret not seeing your video earlier. Thank you so much for all these videos!
Thank you I will need some help. Never have I thought a children’s class, but I have subscribed to you and I am enjoying your tips. I get nervous at time cause they get out of hand and worried they get too, loud because our church is small. But so far I think it is working for me. Thank you.
I'm the teacher of beginner classroom. All alone. No helping hands. Specially after p.m snack they started running inside classroom. Even though I am saying walking feet.
Changing your classroom around to where they have less space to run and remind them that they can get an ouwe if they keep running sometimes you may need to let them learn the lesson the hard way and you use it as an example of why we use feet
What if you had a teacher that tried to help you and say they don’t know what to do and then say what’s the reason of them having a co-teacher if I can’t handle it
It sounds like a meeting between the teachers needs to take place to review responsibilities, roles, etc. Check my channel for a video on working with a partner teacher. I hope things work out for the two of you.
Thank you for this video. I'm a first time Mom and my son is 3 years old. He's in preschool this fall and has his first school field trip tomorrow. I'm a chaperone and weren't given much guidance at all, so your video is so helpful for me. Thank you!
Thank you so much for sharing this video. I am a kindergarten teacher. I have been teaching kindergarten for more than three months and I noticed that they improved very little in my class because even I did not have enough proper knowledge to handle them. I'm used to teaching grade level 3-6 and high school so the difference in approaching them is really big. So this video of yours means a lot to someone like me.
My first day I remember a child was so loud and started throwing things and I was thinking how can I handle this without calling the director again and again? 😓
I’m new to childcare. I’m on my 3rd week and my BIGGEST struggle is to get them to clean up. I found that I ended up cleaning the whole classroom myself because they have looked at me and said I don’t want to clean up and I had no idea how to respond to that

Just about to start and my co teacher doesn't want to label shelves and toys because we are once a week in a rented space and will have to much time setting up and cleaning up. Also, the time and cost in printing and laminating labels.
Hi Ms Celeste! Could you explain what a typical perfect first day at school was like for you? At what time do the little ones arrive? What do they do while they're waiting for the others to arrive? When do you read books? How long do they sleep for after lunch? Etc. I have my own experience but I'm starting in a new school with tiny humans which is quite different from what I've been doing for the past 8 years... Unless I find the answers in your DM me "first day of school"... if I come around to it 😅 Thank you for this video anyhow, you're very reassuring 😊 and helpful!
That's a lot to say in a RU-vid comment, but I have this playlist for you to start with: ru-vid.com/group/PLeFNgOZCJw95sRwFEYl8CGgp6RnkEuBxH Also, if you want to dm me on Instagram please do and I can go into your questions a little deeper, another option is to sign up for the challenge that I will be presenting Aug 29-31, and I will explain and go into detail about of lot including routines/daily schedule, etc. --find more info here: subscribepage.io/Augustpsteacherchallenge
@@yourco-teacherms.celeste5530 thank you for your reply. I don't have Instagram or any social media except RU-vid and calling apps to keep in touch with family abroad... but I'll see what I can do! Thank you!
I like your video. I think its going to be succesful when I will use your tips in September, before, during and after naptime. Your experience and tips are so helpful. Thank you very much 💖🙏
Awesome! I'm glad to hear it. If you want more assistance I am putting on a 3-day challenge for new preschool teachers. If you are interested, let me know!
thanks for the content. My director is telling me that I need to shout at the children to get them pay attention. But when I use my strategy with a song or pick a color of clothing, they pay attention. Should I try to shout any way. I just don't like that because I think it is unnecessary.
Total fan of waves, river and rain sounds. I've recently been thinking about looking for bird and frog sounds (some are suitable for waking up and others sleep time) I like to use an old album of Susheela Raman also Andrew Murray - I select the songs of course.
My problem is that even when we discuss the expectations every day, some still refuse to do as they are asked. Cleaning up a center is a struggle for me, as the children often times refuse under any circumstance to clean up.
Since I don't know the specifics- perhaps changing the environment so there are fewer items for them to take out and not clean up also, review by teaching, demonstrating, and practicing as much as needed- want to brainstorm look me up on ig and dm
I'm a new father looking to help my daughter get better at learning. Help her teacher , actually teach my very stubborn child. And I now have many ideas on how to make my home a better learning environment. Good start. Thank you. I'll be in touch through our progress. I needed help thank you for doing what you do in this forum.
Hey there, grab this *First-Year Preschool Teacher Starter Pack* , that has tips for *classroom setup* , *attention grabbers,* and a *BEFORE the first day of school checklist* : bit.ly/FYPTstarterpack
I mean it kinda sucks for that last one because kids can be arguing because they just want to argue over a toy. Like we have magnetiles and we want to get them out but it’s so hard because they don’t know how to share even though they have a ton of other toys to play with. And even though we can show are kids how to be quiet or use our level 1 voices and tell them. 2 minutes later they be loud again. At some points I think our room is hopeless.
aww....I wouldn't say hopeless. Maybe it's a matter of teaching and demonstrating to them "how" to share-like what it looks like or maybe teaching and demonstrating to them what it looks like to "take turns"...if you'd like to brainstorm ideas- please reach out to me in the Dm's on IG. 🙂
@@yourco-teacherms.celeste5530 or just come and teach our kids. We already are about to have to have a kid be sent home and be sent back with medication. Like he can’t come back with out being medicated. And we’ve told them how to take turns. Even by making centers. Nothing works. Giving more options Nah that don’t work. I’m just waiting for these kids to go so I can get the next batch 🥹😂 that sounds mean but I want new kids. Like I’ve been bitten scratched clawed choked. You name it. I’ve wanted to quit. But I keep going. I just haven’t found anything that works. We need like a real professional
