Mary Ashley Krogh (MAK) and Owen Chikazawa (just Owen) met in 2008 at Savannah College of Art and Design. They’ve been inseparable ever since both as a couple and as creative collaborators. After deciding to take to the road to live closer to the outdoors that inspires them and their work, they’ve been traveling full-time for seven and a half years. Their boundless curiosity for the world, its people and wildlife inspire their film and photography work. MAK & Owen produce video series that examine the personal development that comes from travel and a life spent in the outdoors.
Could you guys go to West Virginia? I feel like that state gets overlooked so much all my family is from West Virginia. It is truly wild and wonderful and seems to get overlooked by everyone. Would love to see some videos that you always do such a great job.
Hi Mary and Own! We're Charlotte and Ken (& 🐶Flo ) from Belgium, currently our overland journey has already brought us to Laos. It's not always easy traveling with a pet: but it's as you said - you're willing to make the efforts, because in the end, it's a pure bliss of happiness. The scenery looks amazing there. Makes us already dreaming about our Pan American overland journey. Looking forward to discover more of your videos. Enjoy the ride! ☺
Never been so disappointed by a channel on You tube as this episode. Completely lacking in the emotion of the last many years and clearly dominated by the endorsements. Everyone makes their choices, I choose not Bound For Nowhere. Truly a sad ending to what was once a totally awesome, soul-felt story. Sorry, good bye...
I got the same type of cat in my van in Sweden. We have been all around Europe. It is difficult to walk the cat in a leach, she always wants to go her own way. 😺
I really liked this video. I appreciate the down to earth nature of it. I like that you just talk into a handheld microphone because it sounds great. Who are we fooling anyway, you are a person in a remote location. There is no boom operator there. and a lot of the lavaliere mics sound worse. I have made videos for more than 20 years, this is good. I started in photography with 35mm, 6x6 cm, 4x5 in, 8x10 in, transparencies, I applaud your efforts!
Such a good vid 👏! I’m with ya there on used to being anti-paid camping, but I’ve come around and fully embraced hipcamps - especially on the coast where public lands are scarce!
Wonderful video. The new truck looks great and the photography in that part of the country was very beautiful. I made it to Arches/Canyonlands this past year but I’ll have to go check out the St. George area next since it looks so cool.
Beautiful video. Also made the switch from the Sony A7S III to XH2s, and I've got a FWC, so I'm rooting for you. More importantly, great vibe/story as always.
Just wanted to say thank you for our cool interaction recently! Ran into you at a local spot in town because a friend of mine was wearing a cool T-shirt from a few friends of yours! best of luck on your adventures!
😃Amazing!! I was there roughly the same time frame as you guys!! July '21. Truly an incredible place of wild beauty! Your photos & videos are better than mine, but i got some I'll treasure for the rest of my life! Thanks for sharing your journey!! Well done!
Hello Boo! So happy for you both to have been adopted by a new cat. Great to hear and see Boo trained you both well, she looks like the Princess she was meant to be. Looking forward to what Boo wants to see and do next!
Man, y'all's photography, editing, music, sound, narratives, and general coolness are just off the charts amazing. Shout out from a fellow ATLien traveler not nearly on your level yet but with big dreams! Cheers, Jon
HA! Thanks! It was fun to plan and bring to life, we can't usually invest so much time into planning shoots like this, but keeping it to just the intro was a really fun and approachable way to try something new and challenging!
HAHA the funny thing is, that isn't our intent, I think his work was just so informative to us growing up that its just kind of a part of us at this rate!
