Ohh wow, this might be my favorite so far. There’s just so much here-from the sound effects and motion during the fight to that ship horn when the ship arrives (so perfectly ominous) to the voiceacting for the Toph and Katara, Katara is so condescending and intimidating, and Toph is a scrapper, love it so much. And that’s to say nothing of the voicing on the townspeople, there’s so many yet they all have completely distinct voices that feels so natural, I don’t think I’d ever fully imagined what their voices would actually sound like, so now I have new headcanons for each of them hehe. Such great work, thank you so much!! I’ll be on the lookout for more!
Okay, so here’s a question, If this is basically an opposite universe of avatar, then does that mean the Avatar cycle is opposite too? Like was it was Korra the previous avatar and Roku is next, or Roku was a water bender and Korra will be fire?
I'm not entirely sure if Korra was the previous avatar or Roku became the previous water avatar since I have not read the fanfic fully yet, but from what I could remember from the earlier chapters of the fic the cycle in this AU is: Fire, Earth, Water, then Air You could check out Ogro/Baithin's work here, the original source material which the comic adapts: m.fanfiction.net/s/3952155/1/Distorted-Reality
Hello :DD Yes, I do own the video in terms of voice acting and editing, but the one who created the comic is Rocket Axxonu, based on the fanfic by Baithin/Ogro! On that note, I give consent for you to use the vid on your channel!!
Hello, I love your dub and I'd like to ask a question, if I'm going to upload comic dub, do I have to ask permission from the comic creator? Thank you! I wanna try comic dub to! ❤
Hi! Thank you so much, glad you liked it!! On the subject of asking permission, when I started I wasn't able to ask permission from Rocket Axxonu directly-- but they took notice of my comic dubs when I posted them in the Distorted Reality Avatar AU subreddit and ever since they have expressed support on the dub! But to be safe, I suggest you message them via Reddit or ask for their permission here in one of the videos because I know they have been commenting here as well under the same username. Hope this helped!
@@CicadaAgain thank uuu for your answer. Can't believe you gonna answer me very fast 😭😭😭😭 Sadly REDDIT IS BANNED IN MY COUNTRY (crying out loud) 😭😭😭. But I'm gonna try with VPN. Thank you so much!!!!
Thank you so much!! Thank you as well for the Book 1 & Merge [1] fan dubs! The hard work that you all put there is really amazing & admirable <333 Keep up the good work as well!!!
It’s called “Oogway’s Legacy” from Kung Fu Panda 3 (composed by Hans Zimmer & Lang Lang)! Here’s a link to where I found it: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xcrDop-bA38.htmlsi=AgoSn1KWlVdjgmjq Hope this helped!
Ahhh Toph!! I love how this turned out, I always loved this scene from the fanfiction so much in how you could feel everything they had been through, and the music and voice acting just bring it to life so beautifully. Thank you so much for sharing, good luck on your finals!!
Aww, glad you liked it :DD Again, thank you so much for the continued support!! I’ll just have to survive this last stretch and then I’ll be back in business >:)) Please do look forward to future videos soon!
As much as it’s pretty cool to be able to use AI for both Zuko’s and Sokka’s voices- or for any other characters- I don’t plan to use AI voices at all for my videos. The reason why I don’t use and will not use AI voices is because some voice actors from the original series have already expressed their stand on using their voice and inputting it in AI- in which they don’t agree to. So in order to honor that, sorry but, I won’t be using AI in the future. I hope you understand With that said, if you’re interested in a scene with Zuko, I do have one in the channel- a scene from The Bitter Truth chapter, specifically where the Fire Siblings have a confrontation. And on the subject of Sokka, I am planning to post something about him soon but that would have to wait till the finals season ends for my studies!
@@CicadaAgain Hey, so sorry for the weird question out of the blue! But I was wondering if you could help me, in which of the voice actors have made express statements regarding voice cloning? (Been working on a possible project using Mae Whitman’s voice as Katara, just to teach myself some new skills and have something fun to share [not DR], and there might be other fan projects I might consider too. However, just as authors have the right to request that fans not make fanfiction/fanart of their work, I completely agree that the wishes of the voice actors should be respected first!) I’ve found this the kind of information can be a bit tough to track down without being well versed in using social media. Sorry again, looking forward to seeing more of your work! (*Edit: No rush to answer this, know you're busy! This is something I've been trying to research for a while, just been looking for a little direction.)
@@rocketaxxonu No worries! That’s a valid question actually From what I’ve seen on X so far, Greg Baldwin (Iroh for Seasons 2-3) and Grey DeLisle (Azula), have made statements on their accounts that they do not agree to voice cloning. Here are the links to their statements: Greg Baldwin: x.com/gregbaldwiniroh/status/1678131064873828352?s=61; x.com/gregbaldwiniroh/status/1691906196356346365?s=61 Grey DeLisle: x.com/greydelisle/status/1692021483151773866?s=61 With that said I have not tracked down, or can’t find any statements from the other voice actors but to be safe and also to show respect, since they have not given any form of consent that I know of, I choose to not use any AI at all in my work. This is also in relation to the AI vs Real VA debate ongoing in the voice acting community, and though it’s split in terms of if VAs are okay or not okay with having their voices cloned for projects (whether it be for big companies or indie ones), I’ll choose to not use AI to honor fellow VAs on the matter Hope this helped!!
@@CicadaAgain Thank you so much, that is a big help!! That makes sense (also would add Iroh's previous actor Mako/any deceased voice actors as well, as it feels like it would be very much in poor taste to clone someone's voice when they are unable to ask for it to be removed or express their views on the matter), and huge respect to you for your decision, and avoiding doing something that you probably wouldn't be comfortable with as a VA yourself. I'm still a little split as it's a project I've put quite a bit of time into already (it's an audiobook of something I wrote rather than anything visual), and it's something for a small audience I think I would enjoy as a fan. However, at the same time, I also want projects I share to be something fun and enjoyable rather than something upsetting or potentially offensive. Thank you so much for your thoughtful response! I am leaning toward holding it for now as something I may only share with friends on a personal basis, unless Mae Whitman herself speaks specifically on it (positively), or the community comes to a general consensus to be tolerant of noncommercial projects. (However, a person's voice is very personal to them in a way that goes beyond character designs and art, so it will be more than understandable if, in the end, the discussions don't fall that way.) Thank you so much again!
Right?! Gosh this is such a bittersweet scene from the AU and it did remind me of the "Do you really think friendships can last more than one lifetime?" scene from Book 3 so I really tried to capture the same feeling on this one ;))
Oooh, nice!! I just love the animations and sound effects on the bloodbending, you can really feel what Katara is doing to them. Also again I’m so amazed at how you differentiate the voices, from Hama’s old woman voice to even capturing Suki from the show. Great work!! I’ll be keeping an eye out for more hehe!
Ooh a Katara scene hehe!! Honestly I don’t think I’ve ever fully been able to tell what I imagine Katara’s voice would sound like, but I loved this, charismatic but with a creepy ominous undertone. Also just loved how the footsteps and music add to the dramatic buildup too, and how Suki and the captain really have completely different voices, really captures them as separate characters. Ahh love these so much, thank you for sharing!!
Thank you!! It was quite a challenge to deliver Katara's lines in this AU, considering this iteration of her character is a lot more cold and distant but still being able to command the crowd-- So I'm really glad you liked it! It was also a challenge to make Katara, Suki and the captain's voice distinct from each other, so I'm happy to hear that I was able to make them sound as different characters. With that said, again thank you! It's such an honor to be able to voice your comic adaptation! Your compliments really do mean a lot, especially as an aspiring voice actor!!
