a great hub adapter that i recommend picking up is the HKB Boss hub. i have it in my 85 RA64 hatch, and it retains both the clockspring and horn bunctionality, and its ALSO a multi wheel size, able to fit both MOMO, as well as Nardi/Personal wheel bolt diameters
Not yet, I actually removed the whole set up and went back to stock for now because I had an issue with the hub holes not lining up with the clock spring. I’m planning to make a video where I modify it slightly to get it all working!
Thank you for this video! I have a 1984 RA65 GTS coupe that the steering rack started leaking. I bought the same rebuilt rack that you did & this video helped me so much with my installation.
Unfortunately these would not, you would have to measure the OEM front spring size and find an aftermarket one of equivalent diameter and desired height to replace the fronts, the front and rear do not share the same size spring.
OMFGGGG thank you for making this video! I've been following your channel for such a long time. I have a 83gts of my own that just quit out on me (fuel pump died) the next thing that's about to go is the suspension (been on the same 41 year old coils) this video is exactly what I needed. You always cover everything in the best detail and with how the forums just have back and forth info, you have been the best source I have found! Thank you thank you thank you.
They aren’t advertised as Corolla springs online, and I purchased them from somebody who used them on a Celica Supra, but I do believe the Celica springs typically fit Corollas! I’m not sure whether the GT-S and GT springs are different though
Well yes, the video is a rear spring install! I’m still deciding between front coil over conversion options so I put the rears in, in the mean time. I looked into T3 but I think Ground Control is better for my budget and needs!
Check how much negative camber you gained from lowering the rear. Yours doesn’t look too bad but watch out for getting cambered out as the suspension drops.
Yeah it looked like I gained about -1 or so from the drop, not so much that I’m worried since I plan to get the front suspension done soon, and then have the car aligned!
LOVE your videos man, i have an 85 ra65 as well, rebuilt the whole motor and turbo'd it was well. great to have these videos on as an example and put to the test. Continue with the great work!
Mine didn't come with the JBL system, and as for the front doors I used these Infinities, www.crutchfield.com/p_108R6532EM/Infinity-Reference-REF-6532ex.html?tp=105 Hope that helps!
Hopefully I'll be able to get a head unit for it soon! I'm not sure if I'll be doing sound deadening on the Tundra but most likely the Celica will get some!
Daniel you can’t run the K&N filter dry you need to spray it with the K&N spray filter oil otherwise it is no effective in capturing the small air particles. You can get it with the K&N cleaning kit at most any auto parts stores
All of the K&N Filters come pre oiled, in a couple thousand miles, yes, reoiling will be necessary along with cleaning but new out of the package it is perfectly fine!
love the vids been following them to do matenience on my 83 gts. excited for if you maybe do a suspension or shocks vid, theres like no good info online! hope the best for the channel and for you :)
Thank you man! And I am to hear they are helping out! I have a couple more things to work through first but suspension is on that list! I have new front control arm assemblies to put in soon so that'll be coming up
super stoked on the vids! i have a 83 gt-s RA65 ive been looking for a channel like this because the forums are super confusing and dont like newcomers. really hoping in future vids you do stuff like suspension or coilover mods theres little to no info on it and whatever info there is isnt very clear! excited for what is to come :) subbing and belling for sure
Yooo new Celica channel dropped! I have a Super red II, 85 GT-S hatch just like yours! Looking forward to more RA content! Gets me motivated to make some Celica videos now, lol.
I checked all the valves and the timing chain out already, and the valves were good thankfully, but the chain had immense slack in it. I used poor word choice referring to it as s tick because that would indicate the valves, but I know for sure its the chain
