We have a 11 kv transformer which is a non oil based transformer which gets trip again and again and they it's getting earth but the other transformer in the society don't what could be the problem
Hi Satyaranjan, There are no issues provided the earth resistance is less than 10 ohms and earthing is done as per IS3043 with a length of a minimum of 2.5 meters.
Can you suggest suitable lightning arrester for farm resort, approximate area 300 mtrs X 100 mtrs. Wherein there is no tall structure except water storage tank tower located roughly at the centre (length wise) and at the edge width wise ie 100mtrs. Thank you.

If I have an intersection between conductors on the roof and cable trunk what i can do? Is grounding resistance measured for the rod with out down conductor and the loop or just with out down conductor? thank you for your effort

Based on the IEEE Std 80-2013 guidelines, you can refer to section 9.6, which states: "Conductors of adequate ampacity and mechanical strength should be used for the connections between: a) All ground electrodes, such as ground grids, rod beds, ground wells, and, where applicable, metal, water, or gas pipes, water well casings, etc." This clearly indicates that metal water pipes can be used for grounding connections, provided the conductors have adequate ampacity and mechanical strength.
It's not because something is up to spec that it's desirable or even good. This is a major risk in multiple situations, with many associated accidents, and shouldn't be promoted.
