That bought back some memories. I used to drive 700 back in the day when it was a through route to Southsea, no bus change en route. My day would consist of about one and a quarter round trips, a 12 hour day including 2 breaks, usually at Worthing and Havant. The service then ran half hourly throughout and at Brighton and Portsmouth/Southsea it was limited stop.
The Coca-cola bus was blocked by protesters and never made it past the Royal Pavilion. The people and vehicles following it were slightly diverted around the bus. Eventually the Coke people left the bus and it was driven up Edward Street.
I broke down just outside brighton on my norton ES2 500 when this event was on. 12 mod lads on scooters all stopped and got me going again, met them all the prom the next day to say thanks and plenty of beers on the night 🍻 cheers lads 🇬🇧🇬🇧

When I was a kid, 16-19 we used to wear our parkas in a completely different cut to these guys. Ours were extremely baggy and loose, yet all these guys seem to prefer a much tighter figure hugging style. Just a small thing but weird to see how styles change.
I've been on the 700 bus so many times as a child and adult. Bullet points to travel to work, go to Rustington for my beastie wedding and Portsmouth and in-between on a weeks holiday.
Of the many scenic-drive videos of the beautiful city of Brighton and its surrounding areas which I view from my far-away armchair those by Pietias 231 are the best. This is one of.them.
