Splash Pages Comic Book Club is a group of comic fans talking comics. We have a facebook group where we pick a book every week to review, often with amazing guests. We go over pull lists, classic books and more.
Can't wait. I pre-ordered the Mark Brooks variant for this unseen a week ago, mainly because I love his work? Finally got to see the cover online today. It's Venom and Oh my, what a sweet cover it is too. I'm in UK and don't get it til next month if you were wondering why I hadn't got my dirty lil mitts on it today.
I'm not purist, or a comic reader much, I don't care what they changed from GOT, etc...but this was stupid and showed they didn't understand the book. The point of the squid was to create an enemy from without, that everyone could band together against. Using Manhattan made it an enemy from within, more importantly, an American enemy. Yeah he said he wasn't bu siddenly you'd have everyone against the USA and mroe fearful of us, and it would ramp up the war,. This guy's a fucking idiot who doesn't even understand the basic concept the book was making.
Still a bad call. The comic told the story in a few panels of the people behind the squid attack. It wouldn't have added a half hour. Maybe cut out the stupid sex scene to save some time. The squid was the best part of the comic. Turning the page and revealing the squid attack was shocking. Bad move. I disagree completely.
It's scary we're we are heading, that's why i'm hopeful for new sites like Bluesky. Twitter can be a den of evil, but Bluesky seems so much nicer (for now anyway). Thanks for watching!
I love Watchmen, but from a story standpoint(comic or movie) the squid just never worked for me, that's why I lost it in a good way when they did what I always thought should have been the incident. Mr. Moore totally missed something that the smartest man on earth would have clearly seen and did.
Okay whatever you say lol. The squid was an alien presence that would unite the world. You have no idea what you're talking about. Keep yapping and yapping and yapping and yapping and yapping soldier
Didn't they change V for the movie to make him way more likeable? I remember something about them changing the movie's message or V's actions to make it more palatable.
Thanks, we had a blast at the con. You should check out the other interviews we've done, we have guests weekly, and hit up local cons when we can, especially Terrificon!
Thanks for watching, I can't wait for Deadpool Wolverine, i wonder if we will see Hugh's replacement, or maybe he will wear the tights for a while longer.
I wonder if Cal Dodd ever met Patrick Pinney who voiced Wolverine in the Pryde of the X-Men cartoon, or William Callaway who played Wolverine in the Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends series.
1:06 This is pretty awesome honestly, i wasn't aware that they took inspiration from the X-Men series. Cal Dodd, Steve Blum and Hugh Jackman are the holy trinity of Wolverine (at least in English). This is pretty awesome and thanks for sharing this ❤ 1:42 He's the best XD. I hope he does a cameo or something on Deadpool & Wolverine, that would be awesome Renae Jacobs and Clancy Brown (i think) there is a nice thing to see there 😄
That's BS. Most comic book movies back then were garbage. They didn't actually start consistently good comic book movies until the first Avengers movie was made. Most Fox X-Men movies were mediocre or bad. X-Men 1 was mediocre X2 was good. Everything after that was horrible with the exception of Days of Future past and Even though it was a poor adaptation.
Love this! Never knew they met. There is a clip with the voice of Nightcrawler where he mentioned a rumor that they referenced the TAS voice on the set of X1. Maybe it’s true!
