Total waste of time, GM from factory dont do all this. Simply bolt it up and its done. If you put a dial indicator on the crank snout you would see there can be up to .0001" - .0003" runout. Pump manufacurers have this runout built in already...
I bought a street stock circle track that was wired WITH ALL BLACK WIRE! The only saving grace was it was neat and numbered on the ends.Didn't keep it that long and rehomed it.

So I’m wondering was it an oil problem at the rod bearing and it spun the bearing then took out the rod? Based on the color of the other rod you showed they were definitely getting hot. The rod bearings on the crank that is and the rod. Also if you only had 2 quarts of oil left was it all being burnt through the engine? That’s a lot of oil to burn through the engine for only a few passes. I definitely would of thought you would see it smoking more to burn that much
