Have you heard about the motor noise issue in the video signal of some mob6 2024? There are white diagonal lines in the picture when the motors are running. It is very annoying and I am desperately searching for a solution. As it seems your model was not affected. Do you have any idea what could be the reason for that or a hint where I could find other users for discussing this issue? Thanks!
my model actually has it too 😅 I think the dvr kinda has lower resolution but it's very obvious on my fatsharks. I did manage to lessen it a bit using the settings I have but it seems to be caused by some other issue. Some have also suggested replacing the camera but that has mixed results. I'm just at a point that I don't want to tamper it anymore 😂 while it's flying well
I'm not sure I understand what was the root problem of it dropping out of the sky and rebooting or not saving/using your custom rates????? Nothing you were doing looked wrong or seemed to be unreasonable on expectations. I'm now wondering if you have bad/buggy hardware or what? Please let us know! Sorry for your frustration with this model!
Im unsure too sadly. This is just what worked for me and changing betaflight settings completely to a custom one was my only solution as of right now. It does seem weird since the things I did was what I've been doing for other BNFs I've had in the past but I think it's just that this hardware is so new that it's likely a mixture of qc issue and software issues - based on a number of responses here. It's flying well right now so atleast there is that. No worries!
Hey man is there any tune you recommend? Just got mine today and loving it except it’s just a tad jumpy sometimes and I might try some expo first but my thing is when getting out of power loops around my room or a matty it can be a bit tricky getting out of it sometimes but again could just be bad piloting since I’m mostly used to outdoors😅
I agree the tune is a little off and the other reviewers did mention that too so it's not just a new batch issue. I know Nick burns is using the karate whoop preset (or smth like that forgot the name) and Infinity Loops went straight to quicksilver
@@sticky_ricebowl yeah I just tested out the karate tune out and I can feel some difference But id like to test it in a tighter area tomorrow hopefully to try pushing my limits. Was also texting with infinity loops thru his discord and he’s also running the karate tune he was helping me thru it getting it set up which was awsome
@@Trippydozer great to hear it fam! yeah the whoop community is really helpful and were lucky to have guys like infinity loops! hope your mob 6 performs well when you test it!
Mobula 6 and mobula 7 I bought both and had issue out the bix....however there's a guy in happy model groups on fb and he took time to correspond w me and help Me
hey i'm having the same issue as you are with my drone shutting of and restarting 2 seconds later, it only seems to happen with a highly charged battery, could you please help me to fix this issue?
that seems to be another common issue but that's actually different from what I have with mine. But, I have some links you can check in the description (particularly the reddit link) from people that have the same issue. hope it helps!
@@sticky_ricebowl its identical to the DVR you showed in the video, I tried to apply your filters and PIDs but it still happens. Mobula 6 flies for a bit then restarts mid air, cutting out video and control link.
@@asparagus200 the resulting effect is the same but the cause is different. mine never rebooted in the start - mines likely a processing issue but yours could be a regulator issue as mentioned in those reddit replies
Hey man. Great Video really nicely produced. Im from the Reddit post. I soldered a new Battery plug and I have power again. I will try your settings and see if my rebooting will also stop. Prayge. Thanks for all that information in the Video.
@@sticky_ricebowl So I cranked up the PID loop frequency and it doesnt reboot midflight anymore. Now I have a different problem. When I startup it just goes crazy and reboots several times when I try to fly. I have to wait a bit before I start flying so that doesnt happen. I wait a bit and than it doesnt happen when I take off. Do you have an Idea what could be causing that?
@@Sprote1 it could be overloading the processing a little but given that you're now at a higher pid loop freq. Have you applied the other settings I've changed?
@@sticky_ricebowl I only changed the pid loop frequency. With Pid Tuning and everything I still wanna wait a bit. Im currently Watching Bardwells series where He explains Betaflight so I wanna learn everything about Betaflight so im going through that. But my DShot was already at 300 and the other setting where the Same from mine. But the Pid loop frequency seems to have fixed All my Problems. I havent had a reboot for 7 Batteries and it is only a bit weird in the beginning. But this has also calmed down a little bit and I can Deal with that. So again thank you really much flying is fun again and Im grinding again on my journey of FPV. It is a lot to learn but its also kinda fun. Keep up the good work man. The Intro Song is btw a banger. Have a nice day.
@@Sprote1 that's a good thing to have as a habit fam! I'm glad you're taking extra steps and learning new stuff too. Hope you have a great path in your fpv journey. though it's hard sometimes and well have to trouble shoot, rest assured there's probably resources about it. im glad it helped! not entirely sure what the issue in the start is about but I hope it turns out well as the mob 6 2024 does fly well when it works. thanks for watching and supporting the channel! I'm lucky to have you guys!
actually changed it 3 times (to the maple micro CP antenna, to ORT Micro Vee, to this simple DIY dipole) to see if it changed the noise in the feed but no change. And since I just fly in my room, I don't need the range but the lower weight helps!
@@sticky_ricebowl it seems like they had a hard time in production ! I just received mine without any antenna, manage to plug a TBS unify pro, But now the reception is all black & white, and after a minute there is a reception degradation until I only see snow. Plus the board is getting really hot on the FC... They promised a lot but failed to keep up the production.. How does yours hold ?
and thanks for watching! ohh the white flat thing with a screen? that's my DIY fpv monitor (from my first box style goggles that I disassembled). Pretty useful during diagnostics or especially showing others my view while I fly.
@@eyeflytinkerings I'll consider it! a few have asked about it tho my issue is that the circuit board is different per brand/goggle...but I'll look into that! maybe I can find a small display and find a cheap video receiver so it's not dependent on goggle guts
THANKS FOR WATCHING FAM!!! I was actually gonna ask permission - ill do that first next time 😅...yeah shes flying great ever since! just wanna ask btw what you think about the frame?
@@sticky_ricebowl hahah always a pleasure bruddah. Oh no! Feel free to use it. Its public on youtube anyway! LOL great to hear shes flying well!! OH the frame? Its ultra light and awesome! Doesnt break so much but it does damage the props on hard impact. I actually like this newer frame compared to the previous iterations. HM did loads of tests on it. Im pretty happy with it really.
@@shogunemperor thanks! I just think its good to get others opinions too especially from people who are more familiar with these things! yeah I actually 100% agree with this newer frame being better - personally also like that the battery tray holds batteries so much better. I just asked cause I was looking through reddit and YT a few days ago and saw people modding the mob 6 2024 to a different frame and thought "its a good frame?". Thanks again for the input!
Great video! buuuuuuuut what keyboard is that on your desk? looks really nice and compact! Ducky one 2 mini is becoming les handy since i need arrow keys now..
thanks man! it's the royal kludge 65 but the royal kludge 68 has the form factor of this plus additional keys like arrow keys. Was gonna get that but it wasn't available. Higher recommend royal kludge for budget keyboards!
thanks man! if you're in the Philippines, you can message me in IG (@sleepyboi.o_o) or if you're outside the Philippines, Im still making arrangements for you guys. Will announce stuff when things are ready!
Hello mate, I have mob6 as well, could you please help how you fixed mob falling out of the sky (4:45). Because I ended up running into the same problem. Anyway, very good video, thanksn
so far, reflashing (firmware shown in 4:21) and changing the settings shown in 6:28. thanks man I appreciate it! hope it works but please make sure you've done the things I've mentioned in this video like making a backup...never know what could happen yknow
omg that fourm post that you showed on intofpv is mine. thats so funny. took me so long to finally get it working, hope the post helped you out too! good job with the video btw!
omg that's you!! Thanks man! yeahh it did when I was trying to narrow down what was causing my issues - big help and got it to work sooner too! I appreciate it fam! thanks again for the help!
Received 2 of such mob6 and both have noise when you arm motors. When you disarm picture clear. Tried to solder runcam nano3, same issue. Very dissapointed with quality.
It was "working" - my picky brain was just by those first few issues that lead to me having more issues. But yeah, you're right. Communicate with the seller first
@@sticky_ricebowl You *have* to expect to be able to upgrade/flash the FW at some point. I'm not sure your self criticism is deserved. *and* when you wait for a LONG time for a back ordered item, you really don't want to send it back, which really sucks when it ends up being not great or easy to fix. I *totally* get you trying to resolder leads, and how much that screwed / limited your options. :( Sorry Mate!
@@jeffmcclain I agree fam! it sucks to have to send something back and wait longer - even more when you're as hard headed as I am 😂 who thinks I can fix it myself. We win some and loose some. But she's flying well right now so I'm not complaining anymore 😂
have you tried changing PID loop freq to 3.2 khz? that's what made the most difference to me....unless your issue falls within the other issues in the links I've provided in the description
I changed my betaflight settings entirely. I changed PID loop freq to 3.2 khz which helped alot then I changed my PIDs and filtering to what you see in the video. I'm still playing around with settings but it's working well so far and I have not had random reboots. though take in mind the things I've mentioned in the vid and make backups before making any changes
@@sticky_ricebowl I think you should not have to reduce it if your system utilization isn't too high??? Not saying this isn't a great fix, just seems odd. I would expect that FC to handle 4khz easy and possibly 8khz if you don't have a lot of filters and other things running. I mean MSP plus one serial is all it is running.
@@jeffmcclain the original was PID loop freq was at 1.6 khz actually and the highest you can go on this fc is 3.2 khz which is why I went to that. Now that I think of it, weird how the superbee f4 can do 8K
oh good point I should try that....tho a bit scared since I'm sure his mob 6 didn't have the same issues as mine - idk if those issues would resurface but I'll try when I get to
@@sticky_ricebowlquicksilver probably won’t cause any more problems, and might solve some. I have two janky old mobulas and they run better on wuicksilver in some ways. I always have trouble getting all the motors to start but ehhh they’re old and bashed, and I eventually get them flying. I hope your hardware issues can be resolved quickly.
@@sticky_ricebowl Cancelled. I'll reevaluate in a few months. Thanks for the video helping me rethinking the purchase. I'd already kind of gotten there, but just hadn't done the cancellation.
I bought a Mobula8 last year, and had some minor issues with it, too. However, I contacted Happymodel straight away and they promptly responded with helpful advice, and a cli dump file that fixed the issues I was experiencing. I like the Mob8 so well, I bought a second unit. My experience with Happymodel has been first rate, and their hardware is good value; it's their customer service that really impressed me most. It seemed like the person I was dealing with was into my issue as much as I was - which is what you want when you're flailing about.
I've had a few encounters like that with happymodel too and from what I've heard from other pilots in my local area, they have been pretty helpful with regards to issues especially people who directly buy from them. though I do wish they had better qc 👀
I appreciate it! I know loads of other reviewers out there so I thought I'd find a newer way of showcasing these things. Will do! Thanks for the support!
@@sticky_ricebowl I hope you keep posting videos like this, it doesn’t have to be only reviews but maybe things like how to do some tricks or things like that. Because I find the way you film and edit entertaining in it self. I have notifications on!
@@Spookzuid for sure! I got a few things planned rn including future frame designs and tricktionary stuff for whoops. I'll remember that compliment for a long time! I'll keep it up!
I also have video noise the same as yours after I arm my Mobula6 2024. I didn't see this problem when I watched the reviews on RU-vid. Are we getting a lower quality product when we buy this drone? My drone can reboot after a hard landing. And it reboots twice in the air during a calm flight.
Exactly! and atleast from my own testing, changing some betaflight settings also affected it. Though I don't know which ones. I hate to say it but it's possible. Especially since they're probably rushing with so many pre orders. Carefully try my settings. Idk if it'll help and I can't guarantee if it'll work but I've crashed mine tons and have reached voltages around 2.9v without those reboots occurring so far. so from my own understanding, it's not a regulator issue, but it could be either a software issue or qc issue. idk yet which one.
I'm having the same issues I have 2 mob 6 24 both look perfect when I plug my battery in as soon as I arm both have noise coming through, thank you for making this video.
@@jayzzz1234ok it’s more of a big drone thing but have you thought about soldering a small capacitor on to where the pigtail attaches to the board? It made a huge difference in my 5” drone, maybe would help here too?
If it was just video noise, I'd say it could be the antenna. You may want to re-seat the antenna, or try another. Also worth trying setting video to Raceband 8, if you're not already on it. But rebooting after a crash sounds more like a board or power connector issue. Check if the battery connector's solder joints look normal, if it does, then I'd probably try to contact seller for a replacement/ refund
I think it was because of something regarding filtering and Pids since it was "solved" when I set PID loop freq to 3.2 khz and having my filtering and pids set as shown in the video. I think it's "solved" cause playing around with the master slider (increasing it beyond 1.1) increased the chances of the whoop randomly rebooting. feel free to try my backup file but yeah - be careful. in some of the links I've included in the description, someone suggested a faulty regulator but I noticed I would get random reboots even in the start of the flight so I'm not sure if that's what I had.
Thats quite a lot of issues. I am actually waiting for your full review for this product because I see plenty of jello on others youtube review, but no one really talks about it, and since stiffening part is your expertise (hachidori) i think you might be a able to notice the problem and fix it.
it is and I'm honestly disappointed - but as ill mention in that "review", my issues might be rare. on the other hand, I'm glad you caught on to the jello. I was defenitely expecting a better tune on his guy but I think the camera/canopy is also contributing a bit. Currently, my custom tune is doing alright but I've only flown it for 2 days so there's still lots to improve on.
@@sticky_ricebowlI got mob6 2024, have a bunch of issues as well. Out of 3 people who I know who bought mob6s not a single one has no problems with it. At this point even HM said that they hurried up too much with it so, on paper it’s very good, in reality everybody has a SHIT ton of problems with it. One of my friends who got scammed on mob6 (got a refund after) is already happy that he didn’t get it haha
Things to note: - only changes I made in betaflight was modes. Idk why but my rates could never save and I found that odd. - it's hard to see but this thing was vibrating as it flew. I checked everything in the hardware side but ultimately told myself it was the software side of things. - I was using betaflight's default rates and crashed ALOT. Despite this, its holding up pretty well so far. I ended up changing alot of the betaflight settings which I'll be mentioning in my upcoming mobula 6 2024 -review- I mean video
Got some issues with my BNF that I want to address in an upcoming video about the Mobula 6 2024. My rates wasn't actually saving, I had issues with the Vtx, and rx was always disconnecting. I wanted to do a review but I ended up changing a lot of the betaflight side of things. Hardware-wise, I think it's pretty good. I have used these motors before and like them. The Aio is a little fussy (if you plan to use it for something else) but it works in the 65 31mm prop format. The camera is decent enough for me and so far the canopy is holding up - better than the betafpv light canopies. The frame is more flexible but I need to do more tests before making any good conclusions about it.
