You're the crazy one bro. People like you are why drivers say they hate cyclists. No one is expecting you to be riding where you are, your vehicle makes no noise and has no lights or indicators. 95% of people do not know what sticking your arm out even means. I'm sure you will argue that it is legal to ride a bike the way you are, however, that's false. One of the very first rules in the Highway Traffic Act is that vehicles which cannot maintain the speed or flow of traffic must be using 4-way emergency flashers. As you do not have any you are a hazard to yourself and everyone else around you, and breaking the law. Find designated bike paths and bike lanes, ride on side roads. Stop pretending you're a motorcycle. Stick to the right side of the road use some common sense. People that ride like you have a death wish. There's the law; and then there is self preservation. You already know that drivers aren't going to respect you as a vehicle, please stop caring so much about 'making the point' and care more about your own life. There are way too many drivers out there that don't respect cyclists rights on the road. It's already dangerous with texting and driving, even when driving our own cars. Needs to be a big push across the country to get motorists to give cyclists and pedestrians respect on the roads. Hopefully more videos like this can help. How's the bike holding up now after a few years? Is the carbon frame still holding up well? Thanks for videos. Very interested in buying the motobecane immortal spirit this year.
I have 33,000 miles logged. Frame is holding up well, no issues. About the only out of the ordinary maintenance is having to replace the rear derailleur cable 4 times. Wear on the cable in the Shimano shifters is not uncommon though. I would heavily recommend purchasing one again from Bikes Direct
