很多外国评论家或是媒体名嘴特别是大中华区，总认为新加坡把英语当成官方语言来团结各个民族。可能只说对一部分，喜不喜欢英语是理解世界之窗，特别是绕不开数学与科技。Calculus, Trigonometry, Geometry, Linear Algebra，物理，化学，电工等等等几乎起源于欧洲。单看新加坡教育当局开发的 SG Math Text Books，如今好多国家都普遍采用，为何呢？因为内容是熟悉的英语。 20年来 OCED PISA 长期对各个国家的教育评估报告，新加坡，台湾，日本，韩国，丹麦，芬兰，荷兰，都几乎在排在前段。偶尔也包挂香港，澳门，一两个中国大城市。所以，父母们都晓得那里有门路接受不错有品质的教育。 外国人要挤进政府学校，只会越来越贵，当局有意不想外国学生与本地孩子出现过高比例。因为这是政府对国民的义务。 新加坡法律是特别保护妇女，女生，与小孩，能安心上学也是各个外国父母不惜重本让孩子在这儿上学与工作。
