can these pumps hold up to 1-2 million gallons a year? Not having problems with that with goulds 4" standard pumps but I want to switch to offgrid. the regular 3 wire grid tie pumps are lasting for over 10 years easily.

Hello grundfos, in the past I used an sp pump on a seawater well but after two to three years of operation the shaft which connects the motor and the pump brokes and the motor was running but no water coming out. What happened here? What are the possible causes of this? Thank you

Hi, You can only display the actual flow, 4-20mA input, and back pressure on the main screen. The pump does have a totalizer under the "I" menu. The only way to display a totalizer on the main screen is to run the pump in Batch mode, and that will only show the totalizer for one batch. Once a new batch is started, the totalizer will return to 0. We hope this helps! Best regards, Steph
تجربتي مع سكالا٢ Grundfos SCALA2 لمدة ٤ سنوات ١- مضخة ممتازة جدا وعملية جدا وهادئة جدا ومميزات كثيرة ٢- عمرها الافتراضي ٤ الى ٥ سنين فقط ولا يمكن صيانتها لعدم توفر قطع الغيار الالكترونية (حسب كلام الوكيل بجده) ٣- لا توجد خدمة صيانة جيده اذا تعطلت فكها وروح للوكيل لا يمكن زيارة منزلك وكيلها لا يستطيع توفير عمالة (من تجربة) اذا تتحمل انك تغيرها كل ٥ سنين اعتمدها كنت انصح بها

Hey there! The SCALA2 is designed for fresh, clean water and is not suitable for pumping RO water. We would recommend installing the SCALA2 prior to the RO System so that it is boosting water into the system. A lot of installations can be unique, so more information is always helpful. Hello! While there is not a specific recommended brand, we recommend a braided flexible stainless steel cable, which you might find at your local hardware store, or wherever you purchase your tools and equipment. Run the inlet pipe as direct as possible and, ideally, make sure that the length is at least ten times the pipe diameter. Hope that helps! -Ty
@@grundfos I neglected to indicate the RO is after the pump. I was curious when the RO is operating, will it cause the pump to cycle as well as create issues for the pump.
@@grundfos Thank you for taking the time to respond to my questions. I really appreciate the effort. The problem being, I cannot find a 1inch braided flexiable stainless steel water line at any place (Lowe;s, HomeDepot in the US, or online on Amazon). What would you suggest I should I use?
The pump will turn on and off based on flow and pressure changes, so the RO system may cause the pump to run, but won't create any issues for the pump. Make sure to have the bladder tank pre-charged to the correct pressure based on your set-point, because it will reduce the potential of short cycling. Hope that helps! -Ty

@@grundfos Thank you Renate for the reply! I actually meant the part in 12:40. There is a small space between the motor shaft and pump shaft. With this pump it it possible to press the pump shaft against the motor shaft because the pin is only connected in the pump shaft and coupling parts. Is the motor shaft touching the pump shaft in the coupling? Or is the space supposed to be there for a correct mechanical seal pressure?
Hola, Tengo una duda, tengo una Scala2 y funciona bien aparentemente, pero se enciende sola sin que halla una pluma o llave abierta como si hubiera movimiento de agua, eso porque lo hace constantemente ? quedo atento a sus comentarios gracias.
Hola @Rafamo2, Te comentamos que la causa más probable de que encienda periódicamente es que la instalación presente alguna pérdida. Por eso te recomendamos, primero chequear que el equipo no esté perdiendo agua o su conexión de salida. Si no hay perdidas, entonces es preciso verificar la instalación. Si el equipo tiene llave de paso a la salida debe ser cerrada. Si luego de hacer estos pasos, el equipo no enciende más es que tiene una perdida la instalación. Gracias por consultarnos!
Hola, hice la conexión en vertical para un punto de ducha, pero la conecto a la electricidad y dejo pasar el agua pero no enciende la bomba, es que debe ser la instalación de alguna forma en especial, he seguido los pasos del vídeo.
Hola @ernestomoranortiz6871, Gracias por tu comentario. Te cuento que deberíamos tener más datos o fotos de la instalación para poder diagnosticar la situación. En primera instancia te recomendamos ver el siguiente posteo y asegurarte que la bomba esté instalada en el sentido adecuado. En él podrás ver cuáles son las formas correctas y cuáles las incorrectas. gfos.ly/6052YeA4q Existe la posibilidad de que esté colocada verticalmente pero al revés, porque indicas que no pasa el agua. Te recomendamos revisarlo. Otra posibilidad sería que algo esté obstruyendo el paso de agua, por ejemplo como un exceso de teflón, sugerimos que revises la instalación.
