TransAm is a fraud. TA and TA2 cars are not real cars, they are fake composite bodies resembling real cars just like the phony cars of NASCAR. They are built on custom frames provided by select frame manufacturers, with identical 366 cu. in. engines all producing around 850 hp for TA and 530 hp. for TA2. Their only resemblance to real cars is the design of the composite bodies. In reality, one could remove a Camaro body and replace it with a Mustang body, and have the exact same car with only a few aerodynamic differences. The rest of the classes (all GT) allow foreign cars which completely negates the idea of a trans America series. So while it claims to be the iconic race series that matches up the best of American muscle cars, in reality it does no such thing. If you are looking for a race series that pits REAL American muscle cars (GM, Ford, Dodge) against each other, this is not it. In fact, no such series esists anymore anywhere in the world. Like I started the post with, "TRANSAM IS A FRAUD!"
George Follmer started at pole position but didn't complete 1 lap. Despite mustangs poor showing here, they still held a 16point lead in the manufacturers standings, with 4 races to go.
If I ever win enough $$$ I want to build an exact replica of "THE BRIDGE" but also adding some new sections as alternates. with video like this I know exactly where to get the layout. thanks - keep it up
Iracing needs these! Any serious sim titles should seriously consider doing scans of these cars and give their customers a different class other than gt3 cars.
When they actually raced cars that you saw on the street. And you could buy at the dealership. What a time to of lived in compared to such phony days of today. Raw and mechanical. No Nannie’s to assist you. Just you and the machine as one.
This is the dumbest so-called race circuit I've ever seen with that long straight than a 180 Left turn, so when the car's have brake failure or overheating there definitely not going to slow down to make that turn , this set up is even more obnoxious than the other super dumber design over on the west coast in Monterey CA with the dumber so-called corked screw. Period
