Getting on stage was Larry's chance to be perfect and he just about was. Coming down off of it into the whirlwind was another matter--as it is for everyone.
A powerhouse director. His collaborations with John Candy are legendary. So much talent for two guys both born in 1950. RIP, Mr Candy and Mr Hughes. Thank you for your cinematic contributions to our lives. Your films have touched many people's lives and for that, we are forever grateful. Thank you, both.
Gracias por este video. Nunca había visto un concierto de Larry con su banda, siempre en solitario. Era una auténtica rock-star. He crecido con su música. Sigue siendo uno de mis artistas CCM favoritos. RIP dear Larry
I had the wonderful privilege of seeing Larry in concert 3 times and meeting him after one of his performances. Very atypical guy, but so sincere in his faith and convictions. Very atypical music as well -- never heard anything like it before or since. That's what made him special. Let that be what comes to mind when we think of him, not his shortcomings.
Why would I create an illusion of a man…to give me warm fuzzies. Nah, I’ll stick with him being a great singer song writer, a dead beat dad who fed his narcissism more than his family and screw all those cowards in CCM who outed him as pathetic after he died, but rode his shirt tales while he was alive.
Dont believe all the hate campaign generated by an obsessed Canadian journalist that was the sole source of almost all this ‘’info’’. Instead watch a video called ‘’the Larry Norman I knew’’ featuring his long time friends and band mates. People who tour with him ,lived with him that saw him for years and REALLY knew him. Plus a link in the info section of the video of a through rebuttal of all the lies told about him using extensive evidence…letter, receipts, book keeping, journals ,etc. The harm done to this man by a few haters , when disproven, will bring you to you knees.
Having the invisible enemies Satan, the Anti-Christ and the Demons must be very exciting, Cupcake! How educated are you? See your doctor about your Christian clinical paranoia and please let me know what your doctor says, OK? I am waiting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Christians tell kids about adult paranoia and invisible suoerheroes. When they grow up they see a psychiatrist who merely giggles. But your paranoia has a halo. What up?@@cm6string
Was able to meet and talk with Larry, in Washington DC in 94, was a sweetheart, took time out of his schedule and even prayed with us. See you soon Larry
Larry was kewl. We used to print his Phydeux Record shirts for him. We had 2 concerts with Larry one at the Cayucos Vet's Hall in 1986 and at Cal Poly Unv. in SLO the next year. He was funny with a poker face, while the entire audience was laughing. A smart guy as well. Quick witted. PTL larry lives upstairs. They will be a lot of music festivals in heaven. Best be ready to go on up. Live like the 5 wise virgins as in Matthew 24, that the mega churches do NOT tell you. Rapture ready, Jesus will be back soon, before the ELE.
John Hudges was a fantastic filmmaker. But Home Alone despite being a success really was the start of a new era for him to go into slapstick mode. He always kept the same formula from Home Alone into Dennis the Menace, Baby's Day Out, 101 Dalmatians and Flubber. But despite the hate from critics, he did manage to hit the Box-Office with most of them.
What a creepy guy. He's the spitting image of Timothy Treadwell (Grizzly Man) with very similar pychosis. A good musician but unfortunately had the mousy voice of Paul Williams. Sad life.
Where did you meet him? How long did you know him? That gavil you pound on your self-righteous pulpit has unfortunately robbed you of a level of God's love that I hope you can experience someday.
Dang Steph. We are all sinners. Do you spend a lot of time calling sinners out? Do you have a plan for them, advice, anything? Jesus certainly did and thank God that's the case, otherwise we'd all be scapegoated until there was no one left. I pray you change your mind from such accusatory self righteousness.
Got to see Larry & Charlie & two others in Lagrange, Indiana Lakeland High School back in the day, others please help with the details, Thank-You Larry Norman & Charlie Normal!
Vocally, Larry Norman was a very blessed and gifted genius. The "Streams of White Light" album has nothing but cover tunes, for which his voice mimics the original artist in an uncanny way. His Jackson Brown, singing Adam is spot on.
My sister, I literally said that very thing to myself when he was singing that first song…sounds like Paul Simon and Don MacLean. Funny you commented that. They’re two of my favorite singer/songwriters. Just discovered Larry Norman from a book I’m reading by Greg Laurie.
I had the honor of sharing a meal with Larry Norman at Denny's in Calgary, Alberta. He expressed Jesus with his life so we'll, he certainly was a vessel of God that changed my life.
@@dondiwood Type Bible Criticism online and learn that the clever ancient Hebrew myths are as real as the Greek myths, Stupid. How educated are you, Dondi?
Simple minds were given the song by Hughes and his song writer. The band hated it, but after they saw the reaction to it at Live Aid, they embraced it. Damn good song.
In the few segments of him speaking, John Hughes comes across as very concise. He communicates well and has written great lines, but he doesn’t seem to enjoy hearing himself talk.
He was well spoken... Notice every time the media reporter tries to misquote him or seem to put words on his mouth...HE CORRECTED EM.... THE POWERS THAT BE DIDNT LIKE THAT.... HAROLD WE'LL ALWAYS LOVE YOU....YOU WERE CHICAGO AT ITS BEST...THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE SIR
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vjTSydItyLk.html I hope everyone who's gushing about this will also watch "Fallen Angel"! And why is he wearing white lipstick? That was for girls in the 60s.
Larry sang and promoted Christian blended Rock n Roll Music together, so he’s given the title as the Father of Christian Rock. He absolutely was talented, charismatic, and did do the best he could on this earth. We should be so lucky, to have the guts to give our lives to the promotion of God’s Word as Larry did. Don’t fool yourself. 99.999% of us will fail even if we try at all, but the “Fallen Angel” hit job was produced and edited by a spiritually shallow person, who needs Larry’s music more than you do. Maybe he will come to God tooooo.
