Hi. (G)i-dle began as a 6 member group. After almost 3 years together (plus time spent as trainees), there was a school bullying scandal, and the 6th member, Soojin, was forced out despite denying the accusations. The remaining members were angry and hurt but could not speak out because of contract restrictions. Still, the group kept dropping hints about how they still considered Soojin to be a member of the group. Recently, Soojin re-debuted as a solo artist with a different (and somewhat mysterious) company. This MV is a metaphor about the group's experience with Soojin. @@MASKREACTS-es1ft lol Well, (G)i-dle debuted in 2018, so there is a lot to their story. I will limit myself to 3 recommendations (+ 1)! Preliminarily, you need to be aware that (G)i-dle's leader, Soyeon, is a genius--and I don't say that lightly. She writes, composes and produces almost all of their songs and her vision is reflected in the MVs as well. So, with that in mind, I recommend first checking out 'Lion.' In 'Lion' you will see the 6-member group, including Soojin, and hear Soyeon's rap which is pretty much her declaration that she is going to overcome adversity to become the 'lion queen.' (She was not joking.) The other two MVs I am recommending, which are with the 5-member group, are actually a combination. "Allergy' and 'Queencard' (in that order!) are set up as episode 1 and episode 2 of a story that tells some autobiographical elements of Soyeon's experience of becoming an idol. (Early on, Soyeon appeared on a couple of reality tv shows and experienced a lot of online hate about her looks and personality. Obviously, she overcame that to become the charismatic leader she is now.) Finally, my plus 1, is 'Agassy,' which is the comeback solo debut of Soojin that was released last November--not coincidentally (G)i-dle released 'Revenge' exactly 100 days after Agassy dropped. Soojin's successful return is why the character at the end of 'Revenge' removes her bandages to show that she has completely healed. Cheers
TWICE is 9 members, but not panic :D i think divide them as 3 groups much more easier. '3mix' as 3 who suppose to debut before TWICE , Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Jihyo (also main vocal line.) Nayeon have solo 'IM NAYEON' with 'pop' as title track (which very k-pop but b-sides are more r&b vibe) and Jihyo with 'zone' EP., 'killin me good' as title track (if you're vocal centric, this EP worth check it out, songs are good anyway. :P) 'j-line' as 3 members from japan, Momo, Sana, Mina. also as TWICE's first official sub-unit 'MiSaMo' with EP name 'masterpiece' ('do not touch' as title track) it's a japanese release. 'school meal club' (also maknae line) as they still in school during debut, 'Dahyun', 'Chaeyoung', 'Tzuyu' (Tzuyu is taiwanese so it pronounce 'Jue-we' or 'chu-we') in my opinion, TWICE's music is more like empowering, energetic and uplift songs. like 'feel special', 'young&wild', 'girl like us', 'queen', 'don't give up', 'breakthrough', etc. (except 'cry for me' ??? anyway. :D) this EP 'with you+th' is good, as they look back to themself and the path.('one spark', 'new new', 'bloom') and people along the way ('i got you', 'rush', 'you get me') also some key words like dream&passion, explore&growing and be patience. 'between 1&2' EP. might be good one to start but (for me) all of their albums are solid (especially since 'more&more' EP. , didn't mean before that's not, but might suit specific taste (especially experimental music)) anyway, have a good day. :)
