Hello! My name is Amber and I host our RU-vid channel, A Meeple Family.
We are a family of six who LOVE making memories around the table playing board games! I also LOVE to take those same games and play the solo variants when available.
Our family is passionate about inspiring other families and individuals to gather around their tables and make memories. We love to share How to Play, play-throughs, monthly wrap-ups, and Top 10 lists!
If you are ever interested in collaborations feel free to reach out!
Fantastic tutorial, thanks! This game reminds me a lot of Pax Pamir! Pamir doesn't have the hidden information aspect, but it's also a game in which there's an abstracted war on a board and you're on the sidelines playing cards to manipulate the board state so the war goes on in a way that benefits you.
11:25 but you could have moved from E1 back to E2 again and fighting the dragon a second time... That's what I saw a lot of times on YT, people not aware of fighting a monster multiple times. But because this is possible it's also a glitch for me in this game. Because of that rule you can kill almost every monster.
Did you stop doing youtube videos? I came to your channel late ;-; Nice videos, the openning music is so calm and cousin and the games you choose to are great. Hope you're doing well
Great video. If you enjoy the solo mode of Antinomy, you will like the game pentaquark from the same designer of the of the solar flare expansion, Mike Mullins. It is a tough puzzle and one of button shy's earliest games available. He also is the designer for the solo mode for moving Pictures.
Hmm... In the rulebook, it says "When counting frames for a task, count all tiles that contain at least 1 frame of the required colour that are adjacent to each other horizontally and/or vertically." If I'm understanding your explanation, you are also counting tiles placed diagonally (the last frame counted in the example beginning at 2:31). Am I missing something? Regardless, thank you for a clear explanation; just got this one for Christmas, and looking forward to getting it to the table!
0:40 that's drawing. drafting is a complicated term that involves selecting cards dealt and moving some to another player. 0:50 the way you pronounce event as EE-vent, is cute but if you want the correct pronunciation it's e-VENt. I can see the scoring to 100 be a turnoff for some. Perhaps better to only score the best plume?
This is a nightmare and very difficult. How is a 5yr old suppose to play? Have watched this video 3 times. Very confusing and frustrating and is about to go in the bin!
Very nice video. My understanding is that the name ECK comrs from the German word for "corner". He named it that because the number of corners on the shape determines the rank of the card..
At 3:00 I believe that wouldnt score, it says both colors must have a direct connection to the task?🤷♂️ This game just got implimented on BGA and I got this rule wrong in a different way when we initially learned it 😅
I love targui ! And same as you, i've no one to play at it :D I've printed the solo version so i'll try that solo mode soon ! Hope it will be fun ! Keep up the good work ! And Cheers from belgium Targui Soulmate ! :D
This is the best video of Friday playthrough that I have seen. You explained everything very well and some things finally clicked for me. I find this game so hard and I always give up! 😀
Thank you. The directions made little sense to me. Now, I understand you're only moving the grinch. There not missing pieces from the game, these children I'm working with, have. And your actual move is to only take a gift from anywhere, except an opponent. Then, collecting the gifts helps you fulfill the wishes
Friday and Overboss are recent acquisitions that I finally played this week, loved them both. Calico, Verdant, Nmbr 9, and Creature Comforts are all good solo.
I wanted this so bad. Overly complicated for the particular family members I want to play it with though. Don't know WHY every game now has to be so complicated. Seems something like Sorry is too simple and these type games are too much to learn. Great video though. Haunted Mansion was so horrible to learn we played it once and no one asks to play it again.
I love Targi! My family doesn’t game, once in a while one of my daughters maybe but never my husband. I will look for that solo variant. Thank you! Try Mr. Cabbagehead’s Garden. 2 player and great solo game!
i just picked up the trio of small box games from pencil first games. played delicious and after watching this solo playthrough, going to play this tonight. thank you. still have to play herbaceous solo.
