Literally the only thing I have going for me is that I’m kinda poor, not even in the middle class. My gpa was average like 3.0, my SAT score was dog water, I didn’t do a whole lot of extracurricular or take advanced classes. Abhorrently average, I am. I guess we’ll see what happens.

My weighed GPA by the end of my senior year surpassed a 4.0 (4.26), but I didn't win many scholarships that took extracurriculars or leadership roles into account. I was chosen as a representative for my school at a regional foundation, but that wasn't enough to be considered exceptional because I had zero volunteer experience. For the high schoolers who may be reading my comment-- do extracurriculars because it's not just your grades that scholarship providers look at. If you don't have the time to participate in after-school activities (or you are shy), then focus on writing scholarship essays.
Some people in the comment section say they applied to 100 scholarships. I mean, how do you apply them at once? Or you just apply one by one?? This is new to me, please someone explain
Hello Marisa, I am international student and I came to the U.S.A. 4 mounths ago and I want to get scholarship for college and I have good sport success and normal gpa but I haven't sat or act scores is it important to show sat or act scores for scholarship?
I can't figure it out. I used to think it was all about making the grades. Boy was I wrong. I'm in my 3rd year of college applied for at least a dozen scholarships, I have a 4.0 GPA, and all I got my 2nd year was $2,400. So..... That's why I'm here.
Honestly is anyone who searched for this topic going to think you are bragging? im trying to get on board and get some too i don't have time to be jealous lol.

Finding scholarships is like trying to find a needle in a hay stack but they make it sooooo easy for you to be able to apply for student loans. So backwards. There has to be a better way
So to apply for a scholarship...you just literally have to search up opportunities and than apply????? Than just wait, right???! That seems so awefully easy..would i have look for a scholarship for a college i want to go to or it can be from any universities? Or programs?
