I love this one. Grocery shopping is already hard enough and trying to juggle cost, health, waste, taste ... its all too much sometimes. But making those swaps where it feels doable is great, we dont need to feel guilt about not being perfect
THANK YOU for being transparent and real. It is not possible for every single person to live a fully zero waste lifestyle, and so important to share that message of doing your part wherever you can! 🌲🌎💚
If it is clothes like the the Justice kids clothes I like to wear I try to buy from sellers on eBay, the Mercari app and the Poshmark App especially if it is some of the older prints I tend to link because I know I am not buying directly from Walmart or the Shop Justice website causing more new clothes to be produced. I also only buy from brands like the Children's Place and Amy Byer from the JcPenny, Kohls and/or Amazon websites for khaki and/or black dress pants but only 2 pairs at a time.
I use a natural/organic toothpaste by Bubble and Bee that comes in a small glass jar that is not a powdered toothpaste and I use a battery operated toothbrush by Oral B that I only have to replace, ace the head to one every three months and replace the batteries when they don't work as well. I also use a natural/organic shampoo bar to wash my face and an organic stick of essential moisturizing oils for my face as well.
I love this! And it’s true, we should always be aware that not all of being zero waste is actually the best option. But what do you actually do with the bags? I’m curious 🧐
Leaving this comment because the video is at 69 comments rn and most people don't want to be the one to bring it up to 70 because Internet culture, so I'll be the one to take the hit That being said, Nice.
Thanks for being honest and realistic. Your channel and other zero waste content creators are embedding in everyone’s mind to be demure and be mindful of waste consumption.
Mam please water your plants a littel more. not trying to be rude btw just helpful. the one on the tiolet is defintly a suculant (im not sure about the other, but the other still needs soemthing to change) the suculatn prob just needs to be watered more often. not to much though, just google how much to do
Even though clothing certain things are unsustainable and certain things are sustainable it's better to make your own clothes from good materials that will last longer like 100% wool cotton or linen. Plus these fabrics are also very good for healing and keeping your frequency as a person higher. Because nowadays a lot of fabric is made out of plastic that gives you the same frequency as a dead body.
Why do you have a Stanley, i bet you have PERFECTLY good other reusable cups like shown in the other vids. And the Stanley has only in the last couple of years become popular…
It was a gift after I left my favorite water bottle behind while on vacay in San Francisco. I didn’t know Stanley was that controversial. I don’t sit on social media all day watching videos so my comment section brought to my attention the Stanley thing. Either way, I needed a new bottle. So I got one
If your clothes are in good condition you could donate them to a womens shelter/homeless shelter if you don't wanna take them to the thrift store. Lots of places also buy clothes like platos, consignment stores or even have a garage sale. Those might not yield a lot of money but it's a great way to get rid of stuff itself not just clothes. Or if they are stained/beyond repair you can cut them into rags. I do that with worn out clothes. :)
For whatever dumb reason, our women’s shelters don’t take clothes year round. & they will happily turn you away if you don’t bring clothes in on the correct delegated days. It’s a bunch of bureaucracy crap
It amazes me the amount of people that throw away the leaves from the cauliflower… it’s criminal. They’re delicious, nutritious and imo, a versatile leaf that should be enjoyed more. Also, the leaves from celery’s, they’re jam packed with flavour and excellent in a salad or soup. Onion skins… yes you read that right. Dry them out in the sun or on top of a radiator or near an open fire. Once dried, crush in your hands and boom… onion powder. Beetroot leaves, these bad boys are packed with flavour and again, these are great in soups and salads. I think we should stop and think before we chuck things out like peelings, leaves etc. With a little imagination we can save so much from going to waste and that’s a beautiful thing. 💚
In Europe can give you clothes to Humana stores collect clothes to sell second hand and they sell the clothes that aren’t in shape to recycling. They use the money to sponsor all sorts of social projects. Friedensdorf is one of the things they sponsor bringing children from extreme poverty and war befallen countries the chance to heal from some very extreme health conditions.
second hand stores in the usa are mostly run by christian oriented nonprofits so. resources are limited unless you know personally local people whom you can give to. goodwill & salvation army also hike up prices for no good reason.
I think it would be good to talk about the condition of clothes, what can be donated and what can be a rag pile and go into textile waste or to charities for rag money. I'm in Wales 🏴 though so I'm not sure of your options though.
I absolutely participate, as someone on a strict budget I plan months in advance what I want for black Friday, that way I don't impulse buy and I am secure in my decision to purchase, but without the price tag, it adds up!!! I also cldo this at certain times of the year for food, the deep freezer I bought one BF has saved me SOOOO much money
