Wow scary place to have the tow line connected! If that glider goes higher than the tow plane , it will make it pitch down !! The tow pilot would not be able to recover!!
lol a -150G with an O-200 pulling a glider, with two pax (ok 1 pilot, 1 pax?) off a tiny runway, with trees off the departure end What could possibly go wrong?
those 150s are gutless with the 0200s in them, friend bought one that had the 0360 swapped into an an older 152 straight tail, now THAT one had great performance
Yes, but if a glider makes a landing in a field, we have to return to the same field, which may be lame or difficult for the glider to take off again, so it is preferable for the wheels to be well clear
I learned to soar in a TG-2 in the’60’s towing behind a 172 and, luckily. having a very long runway, which resulted in very long tows. L-19’s were a revelation.
