Commented below but thought this was important for those listening to these lyrics... This song is pretty false and pretty biblically illiterate for whoever wrote these lyrics. "But angels can't sing hallelujah like I can" - the bible has many instances of the angels worshiping God and also consoling/caring for Jesus (40 day fast). In Revelation they say the angels sing “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty-the one who always was, who is, and who is still to come.” Obviously the angels are smart creation, know who God is, and actively worship Him. The concept that they can't do something like we can is so OFF. There's a verse from 1 Peter 1:12 which states the "angels long to into these things" which is different; basically the angels who disobeyed God are not restored or redeemed like humanity (this is something WE have!!) "I’ll do what heaven can’t" - what does this even mean to say? What are the writers thinking with this? Heaven, God's current place, is filled with the souls of every person in history that's chosen Christ as their savior. They're living with God eternally already! So what "can't heaven do"? Be alive...? This is a ridiculous lyric.
@jodac8868 @kendellbeye4847 Heard the song & seems pretty clear that the song is about how on earth we experience hurt & pain, but one day when we walk the streets of gold we won’t experience pain & suffering. So until we get to heaven & get to sing Holy with the angels free from any suffering, we will sing through our pain & hurt here on earth - something that only we get the opportunity to do right here & now. BUT one day we will walk on streets of gold & sing HOLY HOLY HOLY. Beautiful reminder to praise him through any circumstance now & to look forward to heaven!
@@bbbrown1216 I don’t think that is a good explanation. Who says the angels can’t sing hallelujah like the writer can? As if we know everything about angels? I would argue they worship better bc it’s undeterred by any circumstance. It’s constant holy holy holy. And “I’ll do what heaven can’t”? Heaven isn’t a person or a being, so what is it that heaven can’t do? The writer is asserting themselves as higher/holier than angels bc they praise in pain? The writer needs to get over themselves. They are not that important. Their faith is so good it “brings heaven down”. It’s pure narcissism.
I think: Angels cannot fully understand salvation: Angels may not be able to fully understand what it means to be saved. Therefore they can't praise God the way we can 🙌

@@jodac8868ok thank you for those morsels of wisdom. I'll be sure to ask God for more discernment when listening to the lyrics of these worship songs. God bless.

Last month I was at the hospital with a friend who was dying from cancer... and seeing her with so much pain and intubated... this song was the only thing that came up to my mind and I just kept singing it over and over again when I was crying... "I’ll praise you when when I’m hurting, I’ll praise you in the pain, As long as I am breathing I’ll do what heaven can’t...."
