I might have to stop watching you play... I forgot 2.5 added new scenes in. I haven't played 2.5... that scene between Ansem, Namine and Axel I have never seen before and my heart broke!
Yeah, no need to apologize, the boss fights in this game are trash. The game really suffers from its mobile origins and intent to be very multiplayer-focused … there’s a world of gameplay features you never saw because you were playing solo. But what I like about it is how much personality it has. It has crazy, silly side ops like ghost photography and banana hold-ups. There are even hidden fights against beasts from Monster Hunter. And the briefing files are absolutely loaded with silly references to old games and various character moments. Not sure if you managed to hear 100% of the briefing files and tapes; Strangelove has a bunch as well that only unlock at the end. And you should probably look up “The Phone Call,” which only unlocks at 100% completion but is pretty critical. Finally, I recommend you listen to a complete dump of all the tapes from Ground Zeroes, including Paz’s diaries. They fill out some things in the story. (P.S.: 1995 is Metal Gear 1, the Outer Heaven Uprising. 1999 is Metal Gear 2, the Zanzibar Land Disturbance. I think you were confused and missing those two games in your chronology.)
No, you’re absolutely right, it’s extremely silly and bizarre that after capturing Coldman, nobody thought to keep him away from whatever console he used to initiate the data uplink lol. Where did that console even come from? Why on earth did he have access to it? I love this part of the story, the idea that he believes so thoroughly that humans don’t have the will to retaliate that he’s willing to put it to the ultimate test, but that particular sequence of events is certainly nonsensical.
Okay I am SO glad that I wasn't alone in thinking that! It just felt so dumb but I thought it'd be me. The dialogue was great though! Just a really bad segment though
You should do a let's play someday of "Alone in the dark the new nightmare" (2001) the fourth one and the best and most scary of the serie. The ps2 and PC ports are the best to play with ;)
I'm noticing that the child-sized enemies in the very beginning of the game (fence maze) and in the school have been changed to the "censored" version of those enemies originally required in the Japanese release. Essentially they weren't allowed to depict violence against children. However in the version that I played so many times on my original PS1 back in the 90s, those long-clawed little enemies I see you fighting here only appeared in one small section toward the end of the game. While I think the change shows a healthy social responsibility, I will admit that the knife-wielding grey children were much more unsettling.
3:00:13 I try my best to hold it together at the post-wedding scene, but as soon as soon asks if Snake is coming back i just crumble having seen what Snake was doing last. By the time it gets to "Snake had a hard life..." all bets are off and I'm just a mess. God damn i love this game.
I Think doing the true ending of the game worth it even if there's a little bit of grinding since it will provide context to MGSV, but if you really don't want to get through with the game you can just watch the ending
