I don't think its sold online - we buy it in bulk from our supplier. You can use Blaster brand dry lube that is sold at Home Depot. Works well as a lubricant for shutters too.
I know this would be difficult to answer but what would you say average cost per window is? I just had to put up shutters in a downpour of rain, I’m going to get these asap.

Hello I am using new shutters for the first time. I could not get them to close. I did not know about the lock , as soon as you said make sure it is unlocked , I got my key and went out again and they worked perfectly. I am a widow so thank you so so much for your video. We are expecting hurricane Milton in Florida.

Those are really cool. Are these also good for security /thief/pry proof purposes or are they not really designed to keep the tweakers, looters out? If so I would love to see a demonstration of someone trying to kick these things in, pry them up , pry them off of the wall just like a real thief would .
While these shutters can be used for security they are tested and designed for hurricane protection. Any determined person can get almost any gate/shutter open with the right knowledge, time and determination.

The locks themselves are sometimes interchangeable between brands/manufacturers. Each shutter company typically have around 5 different keys for a type of lock. For example - as of right now HV locks only have 5 keys. (Keyed 1-5). Other company typically have 3-5 different key sets
@@leeroy8936 We have a lock that can be closed from the inside as well. This is just an example of an outside lock. Most of our customers prefer this type of lock because you do not need to remove your window screen or potentially move furniture to access the window.
Can you manually pull those up if there’s a power outage? I’d hate to be stuck inside the house with these shutters down and not be able to get out in an emergency

I'd like to understand the process of drilling and placing the anchors. What exactly did you use? How deep are the anchors placed? We are preparing to place pavers onto our existing pool deck. My assumption is that we will need to place anchors that go deep enough to be secured in the old existing concrete (not just in the paver).
The light isn’t getting through the slats but a slight bit is still visible at the ends and near the hood as these areas are not a perfect seal from the moving parts and tiny gaps
WD-40 is efficient and one of the best products when it comes to providing a momentary lubrication or rust protector. However, hurricane shutters is not the item you should spray WD-40 on. This is because WD-40 is hygroscopic and may attract unwanted moisture to hurricane shutters. Also, WD-40 doesn’t have enough lubrication effects to be useful on any kind of gearings. Yes, it can lubricate small gears, but hurricane shutters are different machinery and therefore, you should only use specialized gear lubricants on them. WD-40 also attracts dirt and dust. It can make the hurricane shutters discolored due to the accumulation of dirt. This will significantly reduce their performance. It can also ruin the components which might or might not be present inside the hurricane shutters. The best policy is to use another lubricant and stay away from WD-40 for hurricane shutters.
I like the video a lot. Very nice, friendly demeanor and easy to follow and understand. The only addition I would suggest is to show lubricating the locks and indexing pins. I like to open the locks, spray the inside and then push the locks closed so the lubricant stays inside.
It is recommended but not required if it’s stucco over poured block. If it’s stucco over wood then it’s highly recommended to have a bead of silicone across the top of the track.
