These guys were ALL so incredibly talented, though by now (2024), so many are either gone or retired. But a giant THANK YOU to Ry Cooder for bringing them out into the limelight! (And I can remember HIM when he was a backup musician to Maria Muldaur!)............... [Not so sure I believe the auto-subtitles of the lyrics I'm seeing, though. I DO speak some Spanish, and it doesn't seem to be 100% kosher, as they say!]

Como el comunismo cubano hizo que estos músicos extraordinarios fueran hombres simples, sin sombra ni trascendencia. El sistema que defiende que lo único extraordinario allá sean los gamonales ideológicos.
Took my Royal Enfield out to get some evening ales from the store. I regimentally parked alongside the reflective windowed side of the building where there's a bench nearby. Being a photography hobbyist I had my kit along for the ride and took the opportunity to archive my despicable habits. Got some pretty cool shots. When I came out, the same lovely lady as when I got there was still on the bench. She asked if I smoked. I replied; no, but I actually thought about buying some cigars in the store. I told her the last time I had one though I got seriously ill. The petite slightly older woman said she loves cigars, and she told me to try the lighter colored ones with the tapered ends. I told her I'd love to go on a photography walk in Cuba with the classic cars and amazing architecture. She said it's beautiful there. I asked; you've been there? She said yes, 10 years ago, saw Buena Vista. I asked; a band? She insisted I look them up, said yes they were exiled and returned to Cuba, they're now like in their 90s. She then walked into the store. Man, she was cool. I regret not seeing if she'd like to go for a cigar sometime :(
