I was scared of this before too so I took breastfeeding classes. Just gave birth to my first child 1 month ago, so far no painful experience while breastfeeding. As long as the baby position is correct.. I only had the same experience as Jane, milk came 3 days after delivery & engorged breast till can feel the bump under my armpit. After few days, it was all fine
