My friend and I were at the swapmeet. Her toddler son came up with a fistful of money. What?!: Turns out someone had left their cash drawer open and he noticed!! We made him take it back.
I bought this because I saw it show up recently on the shelves and thought it could be good, but I realized really quickly I had wasted $10 on chocolate flavored mini sponges. But besides that, my all-time favorite cereal so far is Love Grown Chocolate Power O's.
I’ve been vegan for 5.5 years, my friend brought an opened box of the chocolate one over and said that her family hated it. A few days later I texted her and said “oh my gosh, why is this cereal so bad?!” I haven’t tried it with milk yet, but like you, she assured me that milk does not help. 😂 Great review. Spot on 😅
They made this because Kellogg discontinued the chocolate mini wheats and Reddit was going crazy. I’m glad they are making these. They taste great btw!
Hey bud, good work. When you inevitably create your own cereal can I be the first to get a box? I'll pay for it. I love cereal. Coco Pebbles are my favorite. Great texture. Gets a little soggy fast, but not a deal breaker because what this cereal does better than any other cocoa cereals is that it actually turns your milk in to legitimate choco-milko! I'll have like 3-4 big bowels usually. And towards the end there when I get full of eating, I'll just keep pouring bowels and letting the delicious fact that a bowl of chocolate milk is there for when I'm done is my motivation and goal to successfully consuming a bowl. See ya dude. Keep up the amazing content!
Just found your video after eating a bowl of this garbage. Holy crap this stuff is absolutely horrendous. It really does taste like eating an old couch.
Never would have guessed Honey Bunches of Oats would be the one to deliver a dark horse candidate for cereal of the year! You could so easily mess up Salted Caramel, glad to hear they didn't. Time to go looking!
These look fun, I used to eat cascadian farms granola bars all the time. I worked at health food store and had to always tell people yeah it’s organic buts it’s still candy/baked goods all the time lol. It’s funny that people think organic means the sugar and calories just don’t exist anymore
Is there a cereal you prefer to eat dry without milk? I like the chocolate and super sweet ones. I agree with most of your opinions. I hate it when I don't like the taste and have to throw out the box. Any suggestions on what to do with a box I don't like?
What a great question, Pat! I'm almost exclusively a milk-on-cereal-guy, so none come to mind that I prefer dry. And it is a bummer to try something and have a ton left when you're not into it. They should make everything in a tiny box for us to try!
I love honey bunches of oats and salted caramel, I’m gonna have to go to the store now! I think Starbucks has salted caramel as part of their fall flavors so maybe it is a fall thing now 🤷🏻
Just sitting down to my first bowl of the stuff, which is how I stumbled across your review. After my first bite, I had to look up some reviews on this stuff. Can't even finish the 1.25 cup serving I poured for myself, and I LOOOOVE breakfast cereal. It's one of my genuine vices. I finally decided to try the stuff, as it was on sale for about half the regular $9.99 price tag. I was born in 1982, so I've likely aged out of their target demographic. Let me preface this by saying, "It wasn't ALL bad." The taste, while a little off, isn't terrible. Reminiscent of Froot Loops. The texture however, is what I have umbrage with. While initially having a slight crunch, when exposed to milk, or even one's saliva if consuming it dry, turns the cereal into an all but inedible sponge. Like, I'm not saying it's "spongy," but rather, it literally turns into something comparable to the sponge one would use to wash their dishes. Nigh on inedible. I was thinking about trying Magic Spoon, as that's another high protein cereal I've heard good things about, but I don't know if the texture is going to be anything remotely like this.
I also didn't rly get the hype on this one 🤷♀. Although when I crushed it up in hot milk (the admittedly cursed way i like to eat shredded wheat) the flavor came out like tenfold. Was like...warm cake batter cereal 😆.
Man Alex thank you for saving me $5 I was this cereal at the store a few days ago and really considering buying it. I ended up getting French Toast Crunch which tastes way better than I expected! I guess the Frosted Chocolate Cake is a hard pass for my camp.
So pleased to find a channel devoted to cereals!! Just subscribed, you are so lucky in the US with all the different cereals I am from the UK we dont have as many different ones. Any chocolate cereals like this I love to heat up a little bit in the microwave and get the chocolate to melt which I am sure some people would disagree with
I always liked Kellog's Mini wheats but found out recently that they use BHT "for freshness". BHT is thought to be a carcinogen. Does Post use BHT in their mini wheats?
I tried searching for this cereal in my grocery store app, “frosted chocolate cake cereal”. The results it returned was Frosted Flakes Chocolate Milkshake or a chocolate frosted donut. LOL I like plain shredded wheat, but only if it is the small ones. Not the big biscuits, those are weird.
When I was a kid they still sent out samples of new products in the mail from time to time and once we got a couple of boxes of Frosted Mini Wheats in the mail so I ate them for breakfast one morning before school, and then just before the bus came to pick me up I puked them back up and I've never eaten them since.
