Nope, 2 star for me, I’m watching the replay because I was curious. I think what ruined it for me was the 1 POV, I didn’t enjoy seeing everything through Bella’s eyes and understanding as a child. The parents were horrible, I just couldn’t follow the creepiness of the story because I was annoyed. Not alone Ashley!
I just finished Middle Of The Night and I kinda agree, it was really slow in the beginning! This book seems different to all his others somehow, but I can’t explain what it is. Still got a 4 star rating from me because of the ending 😅 👻
Love your content. Thanks. Can I ask a question? What is going on with you reading with your headphones on? You called it something like an "audio book". This is all new to me.
Maybe he thinks women are sexy because he's a hetero man? Let me guess, the new far left puritanism,RIGHT? your faith against my faith.........throw away your copy of MARX........... could you do that? 😇😈😇
Hi RR, i'm a new sub, I'm an Indy horror writer, i've had 3 booktube reviews, but am looking to get my name out there abit more, would you be intrersted in my book? I know you guys get indated with other books, so don't worry if you can't, but if you don't ask you never know. As for other recommendation, anything writen by james herbert, his book the ghosts of sleath is for me the best ghost story ever,
Spoilers: I just finished the book, but i cant remember if it said anything about the letter that the mother wrote to her daughters, i mean what did she write for Beth and Nicole??! Please tell me if you know😢😐🤦🏻♀️
I how they are not claiming women stayed home and cooked and cleaned in the 90’s lol 80’s and 90’s women worked outside the home and took care of the house.
In the beginning of this book, it borrowed a lot from the movie “Mommy Dearest”… The name “Darling”, the chores, the pool, etc… If you know you know! However, after that it was a great “page turner”! 5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!
I have a mass market paperback of this celebrated horror novel bought by my late father just for me. Our family are non-native English speakers so when I turned 13 and started my secondary education, my father brought me to a Times bookstore at a mall in city centre. He told me to choose any English book that I liked in the bookstore. I remember watching Salem’s Lot on my late uncle’s vhs tapes and so I selected Salem’s Lot by Stephen King. That was way back in 1986. I have already finished reading it once and I am reading it again for my pleasure. I could only guess why my father bought me the book which is bcos he wanted me to improve my English language. The year before when I was in the last year of primary school, I begged him for some money to buy a couple of books and bcos of that he could see how I managed to pass my exams with flying colours, improve my English and get into a good secondary school. I still have that mass market paperback copy till today even though it’s old, battered and the corners are dog’s ears. Ths particular copy has sentimental value which reminds me of my late father who had only a primary 4 education. As for the novel itself, it’s a pleasurable slow burn to be devoured intellectually at one’s own leisure. But when you kinda least expect it, the horror is palpable and seems real even though vampires aren’t real. Worth every penny and every minutes/seconds spent
Pretty Girls felt too much like a certain movie from 1999 with (how do I not spoil the film..) a Soprano, a Joker, and a Remarkable talent. In any event, made the story Very predictable and overly cliffhanger-y at EVERY SINGLE CHAPTER 2.8/5
Great list! It’s rare I find even a single book to read from lists, and I’ve found at least a couple from this. I live for hidden gem lists like this!! I have a question for you now. Have you heard of or read Night Film by Marisha Pessl? I’m hoping you haven’t yet so you can for the 1st time! Based off some of the books I’ve read on this list and how you describe what you love in books, I would say there’s a strong chance Night Film would be on your part 2 video for this list. It’s such a dark/deep enchanting mystery. It is by far my favorite horror hidden gem I’ve come across ever. If you respond to this comment I would love to share a final bit of backstory in how I came across Night Film. I hope to hear back from you :) I’m about to start the River Man book and then penpal after. Thanks again!!
I put together an Outline for a 10 Episode Limited Series for Salem's Lot (about 225 pages). I'll send it over and if interested give it a look. Thank You for the Video, it is GREAT 😀
Hi, Sav! 👋🏾 Love that you did this tier ranking. 🖤 You broke my heart with The Inmate though. I thought it was a fun popcorn thriller. 🙈 But I'm right there with you with Listen For The Lie. I only finished it because I just listened to it in my car while running errands. Otherwise it would've been a DNF for me too. Hope you're having a good June reading month so far! Happy reading! 📚☕️
I LOVED the war of lost hearts trilogy by Clarissa broadbent and started serpent but soft dnfed it. I just couldn't get into it the same, but I will pick it up again one day. Acomaf will forever have my heart. I had the exact same experience with acosf being a big too heavy on the smut and the plot felt meh. Loved this approach to a wrap up!
I'll definitely have to check out that trilogy soon! If you pick up Serpent again, I hope you enjoy it! It does have a slower start for sure! Yesss ACOMAF <3. I'm glad you felt the same about ACOSF! Thanks so much :)
