Happy Birthday Ruth 🎉 Hope you had a lovely day ❤ Just saw a video about Tilly’s journals. She is UK based. She hand makes her journals and offers a lot of flexibility. The journals are on coils and you can get a larger coil to allow for sticker bulk over the year. You can use standard vertical kits for it. She is closed at the moment but is likely to open mid October for pre-orders. I watched Beth Plans video about it today 😊
I completely understand the "hoarder mentality" that you mentioned! LOL! I want to use the super cute ones that I love so much, but I also tell myself to save them BECAUSE they are so cute! It makes sense, yet it also doesn't make sense. Ha!
Welcome to the fountain pen rabbit hole! I have a TWSBI Eco and love it. Just a headsup - you don't need to dismantle it and deep clean it on a regular basis - only if you start getting issues with the piston action. If you need to do it even once a year I'd be surprised. Treat the pen kindly - TWSBIs have a bit of a reputation for getting cracks, especially in the grip section. It's not a pen to just toss into a bag when you're on the go.
Hi Ruth Sarah.. it's been a long time since I've commented although I have been following. I see you got the Coffee Monsterz Co inks.. the Robert Oster collabs ...? I will say that the brown and the deep plummy purple are gorgeous. I went down the fountain pen rabbit hole about 18 months or so ago and have been really enjoying the experience. I have purchased a couple of TWSBI Swipes and I recently bought a couple of TWSBI Echos for the TCMC inks. I do really like them as well. 😮 I also love the Kaweco Sports...great little workhorse pens that take cartridges. Welcome to the world of fountain pens!
Hi Denise I was actually thinking about you the other day and wondered if you maybe didn’t watch anymore. I definitely missed your comments x yes I did get them they were in my last TCMC haul that I posted. They’re stunning
@@RuthSarahBI did see your haul after I posted and edited my comment. 😍I have missed you too. Sometimes life just gets so busy with work, home, and lots of travel. Trying to catch up lately. I can't wait for the TCMC September release of 2025 kits and things! P.S. Helen's new pen case is cool. I bought a Moterm pen case I love too.
I understand completely I currently have a really long watch later playlist cause I’ve been too busy to watch. I’ll have to catch up myself. Yes I can’t wait to see what’s coming in the September 21st release x
Such a fun haul! That desk clutter washi got me too - the little emoji laying down cracks me up and I’ve already used it two or three times since I got it. 😂
LOL...I know what you mean about the stationary angel and devil. I have my own. I am very new to the planning world so I am ooh-ing and ah-ing over everything....the journals, pens, stickers, washi tape etc. The stationary devil is trying to convince me to buy more than I should. I may need help. 🤪 Congrats on your first fountain pen. I look forward to seeing it and how you use it. Cheers!
Hi do you have a video how you make printout of picture a day, like page setting..aslo how do you remember the date when each picture was taken 😅 I'd love a deep tutorial..it is such an amazing idea. I was doing it with stickers but this is so much better ❤
Do you u mean the ‘poly pocket’ inserts that hold the stickers? They sell them in their shop in a few different layouts. They also come with the subscriptions x
Ah yes, the perfect content to tide us over until it hits the 9th so we can see the halloween release!!! That coffee bag has got me so many compliments too.
These are cute. But in Germany Pumpkin pies and such are not really a thing. We get the drinks at certain places - which I also can't have cause pumpkin spice usually seems to have cinnamon and I'm allergic.
Hi 👋 We don’t get pumpkin pies here either 😞 but we do get pumpkin spice lattes and I actually don’t like them. I prefer a caramel latte x that’s the first I’ve heard anyone having a cinnamon allergy. Was it difficult to work out that it was what you are allergic to?
@RuthSarahB I can't really remember because it started when I was a kid. I just know that I would get rashes and severe nausea from certain foods. I also never could stand the smell or taste of cinnamon gum even though there is no real cinnamon in it. But you wouldn't believe where I found cinnamon in - it's ridiculous. And dining out around Christmas is a nightmare. Cinnamon in every dessert, in sauces, in main dishes including roasts and such. I (understandably? Cause it makes me nauseous) don't enjoy the smell of cinnamon and that makes Christmas time a bit of a nightmare sometimes.
@@darkmoore05 I’m sure it does. I tried going off gluten once and it’s only when you can’t have something that you realise how many things it’s actually in. Thankfully it wasn’t permanent for me
@RuthSarahB I'm glad yours wasn't permanent. In general, apple pies, certain Asian food (there is cinnamon in yellow Thai curry, too) often also plum products like pie, marmelade, etc. I even had a reaction to a spice-lasagna once. I think the most severe reaction that caught me off guard was about 25 or so years ago at a Thai restaurant. I had a very savory dish with onions in it and sea food and tomatoes and whatnot. Halfway through the bowl, I got severely nauseous. Like ... turning green nauseous. My sister took my bowl from me, smelled and tasted it, and said, "I think there's cinnamon in it." For once, I hadn't noticed. We asked the waiter, and he came back from the kitchen saying there was about half a teaspoon of cinnamon in my bowl. Safe to say, I didn't sleep that night. The unfamiliar spices in the dish had led to me not noticing, and I hadn't expected it in a dish this savory. Lesson learned...
@@RuthSarahBI hope so, for you. They are in literally every shop that sells stationary or school supplies or something. For as cheap as 1 or 2 Euros. With special learning pens that have sturdier nibs for small hands not used to pressure control yet. And some with nibs for left-handed people. It really is a very very common item. I literally have like 2 or three dozen around. And two or three still wrapped for when one of my kids misplaced theirs again....
@@darkmoore05 we don’t even currently have a stationery shop in Belfast. The two that where there closed. Hallelujah for online shopping lol EDIT: I mean they sell stationery in groceries stores but it’s big standard stuff
“I can’t buy a pen for every ink colour I have it’s just silly” 😂😂😂😂 yep I used to think that and here we are several years later not only have I got many fountain pens in different colours I’ve now got multiple pens of the same/similar colour! Then you get to the “I need to try different nib sizes” stage and before you know it you’re drowning in pens! 😂 welcome to the fountain pen rabbit hole! I have to admit my indigo/bronze TWSBI is one of my favourite pens to write with, even compared to some of my gold nib pens it writes beautifully!
I use a Parker fountain pen, which is great for me as I am left handed. The refills you put into the pens are called cartridges. I mainly write in black now but when I was at school (nearly 40 years ago!!) we had to write in blue and I used an Osmeroid pen.
We had to right in blue too! I wonder why that is? I like dark bluey black inks but I'm not a fan of brighter blues usually. I wonder if it is because it reminds me of school?
I mean, you CAN buy a different fountain pen for every ink color…but nah, that would be crazy, right? 😆 I got into fountain pens earlier this year and I really love them. I made myself wait until a few weeks ago to buy a Vanishing Point and I just love it so much! Definitely worth the money to me. I can’t wait to see how you like your TWSBI, I started with one too and it’s my second favorite 😁
@@RuthSarahBAgreed! I actually often do that. Though with 200 ink colors or so having one for every color is not really doable. I don't know how many fountain pens I have in total, because I lost count on the cheaper ones.... I do have 30-ish? TWSBI, a dozen Kaweko Sport/AL and several Lamy though. It's addictive
@@darkmoore05 lucky duck 🦆 sounds like you have an awesome collection. If you have an instagram to share a picture or a YT channel to share your collection I would love to see it 😀
I bought the twsbi eco as my first fountain pen as well, and the red end is so frustrating! I'm a pastel girlie, and the red end on my pastel aqua pen just ruins the whole vibe. I may paint over it.
That's a good idea. I might do the same. I don't understand why they can't make it match the pen. It would have been lovely as Bronze on my new pen to match the hardware
Or just buy a brand that doesn't bother you? There are a million different brands out there. This red dot is literally the only constant in theses Twsbis. You don't have that problem with Lamy, Kaweco, Pelikan, Faber-Castell, .... etc
@darkmoore05 yes I did so I weighed up how much it would bug me and made my decision. Just giving my personal opinion that I would like the brand logo to match the aesthetic of the pen. It can be there without being Red x I like everything else about the pen ☺️
@@RuthSarahBI get what you mean. I have a lot of TWSBI. (Current count is 29 or so?) It doesn't bother me though as I always viewed it as something brand-specific. Have you tried Lamy or Kaweco? Both very good fountain pen brands that don't have the mismatched colors issue. Kaweco now even has a piston one. So...
Thanks ☺️ they are actually releasing a hobo cousin subscription but there is none that is specific for the weeks. I have never owned a planner smaller than an A5 but if I was to try a sub for that size of planner I would go for the journal subscription for dates and small stickers or the sticker sub if I just wanted decor pieces. Hope that helps
lol He is a pigeon fancier with his Dad and shares the race day and tips etc. I never really thought to mention it. I guess I assumed no one here would be interested in that 🤷🏼♀️
