Yes you are going to do inspections, if there is a report already it means that someone backed out from a deal previously, you want to know for yourself what’s the deal with the house and regardless, it’s an extra time with the house the buyer can spend before paperwork outside of just the showing walk around. It’s a no brainer. He as a sellers agent is not happy he had to present his customer with another offer including the risk element that the previous deal likely fell apart on, he just doesn’t look competent to a seller by dooing so, that’s why he is sour. Good on buyers for protecting their interest.

And you are ALL TALK, if you buy a house as the agent, you WILL give the refferal fee or find yourself meeting the licensing board or in court and giving them the whole commission. As you know CONTRACTS ARE LEGALLY BINDING

Exactly. Buyer agents do legwork on qualifying buyers, walking them down the home buying process (pre-approved, etc) They absolutely should be compensated. Does a seller want buyers who are not qualified to buy, walking thru their home? Nope!!

@JustKieffer I don't think anyone is legitimately arguing they shouldn't be compensated. The argument I see is, the seller shouldn't have to pay. But is the seller paying, really? The seller doesn't have the money until a buyer gives it to them. And a sellers agent isn't paid unless the house sells. When the seller never takes possession of the money and attorneys cut agents checks before paying the seller, how is the seller paying?
