As the owner of a handyman company with multiple vans this would be very good to have in each truck to spray without having to lug around a sprayer, hose and a power cord for a tiny bit of work.
This is good mate, I used to work as a rep for Wattyl, I loved the Ultramax but couldn’t afford it for my own DIY stuff at home. I have been eyeing one of these off, sure there’s a bit of weight in it, but the finish and control is brilliant
Hello Painting by Josh. To date, my sanders have taken forever to sand down to bare timber window trim. I gave up and used a grinder heaps faster results but it is to easy to grind too much ending up with a few dents in the trim. I scrap the corners when the grinder can’t reach. I have one orbital sander and one sander with a rectangular pad maybe 20cm long. At each end pf the rectangular pad, sheets of sandpaper are held in place by a metal clip almost like a clipboard are held in place. I keep breaking the sheets. Thank you. 🙏🏼🙂👍🏼
@seamuswarren hi, sanding the boards back can be a long process. A good quality sander and sandpaper will definitely help. The grinder is a lot quicker, but like you said, you can gouge the timber real easy. Thank you for the message 🙏
I noticed the hinges wern’t taped and that you spray the doors still hanging. Do you replace the hinges or something? And do you spray the door at the same time as the frame?
@ihavequestions6302 I do a lot of repaints, so a lot of the time the hinges are already painted. Yes, I spray at the same time, frames first, then the door 👍
just found your channel , i honestly haven't seen someone who takes so much pride in their work in a very long time , it lovely to see and much respect to you for it to absolute perfection and nothing less . 👊 ❤
Hey Josh! Just subscribed! Is there anything you shouldn’t try to paint with this sprayer setup? Or any paint types it isn’t good for? Assuming you can swap out a tip or two to broaden what can be painted and with what? Keep laying it down!
This was really helpful. I learned to paint without tape and I’m very good at it, but not very fast. I haven’t used tape too much, only because I am HORRIBLE with tape.. or anything sticky really. It’s actually comical, how ridiculously incompetent I am with anything sticky. 😅 My husband is really good at taping, but is a horrible and god awful painter. So he helps me out with tape. I have gotten better with practice. Not quite fast enough to make it worth it in most cases… but if I have highly contrasting colors, it’s a lifesaver and definitely worth the extra time.
Nice vid, mate. Thanks. One question, at 18:46 you mention "fat caps", will aussies find these caps fitted this spray in Bunnings? If they don't have them, what can you do? Cheers.
Josh you inspire me so much. I sit and watch your videos all day. I should be painting lol but if I watch you a few times it gives me the confidence to repaint all my cream windows to white . Not looking forward to sanding and painting old honey comb security screens though lol. Oh well that’s my challenge So looking forward to following you with more videos. You should be so proud of yourself
Josh, iman old school painter transitioning to spraying woodwork. Can you answer for me please. Do I need to be concerned about hitting the wall with enamel? Does it flash through or cause adhesion issues for the wall paint? I've watched alot of people spraying and no one seems to focus the edge of trim. Isn't it patchy or do you go around an cut the sides of door frames after? Cheers in advance
Could you use the graco shot for touch ups? I know this video is 4 years old and they only came out recently, have you touched up ceilings with the quick shot, spray finish ?
Hey bro what tip / pressure and material are you spraying? New to spraying and I’ve been trying to master aqua enamel to my wood work, looks like you can load on the frame without getting runs, I can’t seem to get that fine spay right even with a FFLP 210
Hi Josh. Just wondering where you live. Thinking about hiring you to do it for me!!! I'm in NSW Northern Rivers. If you're far away, maybe you can come for a working holiday...
Hey Josh, Thanks for your videos, legend for us upcoming painters trynna pay the bills.. I have this unit and it has been good although, think the gun is a bit battered now/ maybe filters etc. Would you recommend getting a new handle for this unit (they're pretty much same price) or is not worth it? Thanks
hello, with respect, I'm reading tutorials about Mircea Leros... I like how you explain but I didn't understand one thing... the sandpaper comes in several sizes... 150 180 200... my model is MIRKA LOROS- S 950 XCV DUAL Voltage 1250 M....please explain how and under what circumstances they are used, thank you from the bottom of my heart with respect🤗👍💪
Hey Josh, love your videos. I have a question how many top coats would you spray for normal walls, like 1 primer/ undercoat then 1 topcoat pull tape, or 2 topcoats / what about paint tear when pulling tape due to first coat bridging onto tape ???
