A personal note. The female Bruce Springsteen. Great sound and lyrics with a deeper meaning. I am sure that 30-40 year’s from here, people still will come to her concert.
I've listened to multiple live versions since the release of the single, but keep coming back to this one. There is so much raw emotion in this performance, the way her voice tails off in parts is beautiful. Such a talent.
Just seen Holly play it acoustic again in London tonight and I agree, something so so special about it stripped back like this. They announced two special edition CD’s for the album release next week, unfortunately this isn’t on the acoustic version but we are going to get a voice notes version of the track - can’t wait to hear that!
Yeah, as far as I know this was the very first time it was played. It was played again at Omeara two nights later and hasn’t really been seen since besides the secret SoundCloud demo that appeared last year
So what's the meaning behind this song? I mean what it's all abt? I think word Antichrist n her personal lyrics doesn't seem to match. It cud be taken religiously n makes lots of negative review.
"I wrote Antichrist about a break up I went through a couple of years ago. I really cared about this person and wanted so badly to make it work but I knew something wasn’t right, that my heart wasn’t fully in it. I basically felt like the Antichrist. The guilt and self-loathing that came with that led me to write this song"
I saw her last night live in Lincoln. She is a great musician and the live version was absolutely fantastic, but I do think the recorded version was a tad overproduced. The live version is so much better.
