thats why israelis these days share an uncanny resemblance with hitler : using concentration camps, propaganda lies, race superiority, doing a holocaust/genocidee to Palestine etc
yes and did you know the israelis are zionist jews who descend from Europe where they survived by making deals to sell out other jews to the nazis ; research it. how do you think they survived?
2 footnotes :. When I improve in developing intimacy with God, I develop intimacy with people, as the good Rabbi said. The flip side of that insight is equally true. When I develop intimacy with people, I also develop intimacy with God. Another point to consider: The quote from Jeremiah, referenced by Rabbi Feldman, is also mentioned by Maimonides at the end of his Guide to the Perplexed, where he merges into a beautiful ethics.
What is the difference between mussar chanting and wordless nigunim, if any? As I listened to this video I was reminded of the nigunim I've heard from (e.g. from Matisyahu and Zusha) but the explicitly named nigunim as I recall were vocalic but wordless. And then there's Moshav's ברשית, which sounds like it may come from this practice. Thanks for sharing your example, too. Loved it.
I'm a Christian who has found great encouragement in Jewish intellectual/spiritual history (such as "make for yourself a master" and Hillel's patience in Shabbat 31a). Without a community nearby to learn from, resources like this are such a breath of fresh air. Thank you for this beautifully clear intro to Mussar. All blessings to you for this and all else done in His service.
I’m reading Everyday Holiness right now. It’s amazing to me that so much of our “lost,” “forgotten” wisdom is being revealed (re-revealed!) in these days. Thirty years ago, this type of info was not made available, at least not to secular (non-observant) Jews. It’s a sign of the times (on the brink of Geula)! I’m BT, and the term you used, “obligation,” resonated with me. Yes, it’s our inheritance and our obligation. For most of my life I’ve searched for the truth, but it was obscured. Now that I see, it’s my duty to learn and put into daily practice. Thank you for writing the book, and sharing what you have discovered/rediscovered. Shalom aleichem, indeed!
Oustanding shiur Rabbi Safren however in first Mishnaot ie from mishna no 1 why is the no 10 used what does 10 have ,on a deeper level ?Kind regards Bernhard Wainstein
Thank you for telling your story. I am enjoying rereading the Mussar books you have written. If you write future Mussar books I will be sure to buy and read them.
Thank you, Rabbi George Jetson Avi! We are so excited for the Kallah to begin this year! What a wonderful program for us all- you do such a loving and thorough job of helping our souls grow! See you soon!
The majority of American Jews do help the poor, weak and defenseless above and beyond what most are aware of. They do play a behind the scene role in helping smart poor kids get good education.
This was so timely and important, Alan. This clear and beautiful description of the teshuva process was so helpful during the Days of Awe (and of course will continue to be so throughout the year). Thank you for sharing this meaningful message. Gmar Hatima Tova.
