His vocals undoubtly better. He taught me how to sing with those first albums, then last shadows puppets, sweet dreams tenessee actually, had me learning better breath control. I don't mind Alex off beat, it's a bit jazzy, he's got the vocal chops to play around now. I like their older albums better, but Alex strikes me as a dude who will never not expereiment with new sounds.
I always thought the main riff was close to Yngwie’s Far Beyond The Sun. The Psychedelic Porn Crumpets’ Pillhouse sounds so similar to the Final Fantasy tune.
I can see another dimension after years by years being love to this songs. And maybe dimension is the canon of dimension that this song try to deliver. You messed up , yes you cant do anything with that. But thats life. Keep moving on, dont regret it, lesson learned and dont look back in anger. Thankyou sir🙏
It is weird how they had Anthony rapping most of the time he wasn't being silent in their early work with a lot of the singing they did let him do being covers when he had golden pipes the whole time tf is up with that?!
Does Noel realize that John Lennon today would be a Kamala hugging Biden loving far leftist Democrat that wanted to take away your guns, tax you and your dog to hell, and give all your money to the illegals. God he had good music but now that I'm older I know exactly what John Lennon was.
I don't mind the speed at all, my favorite songs from them were often the slower ones, but these last two albums are just boring thematically, and the sound doesn't lend to much instrumental creativity from the other members, except for a few moments
I get what he means by lyrics sometimes you just write stuff it has meaning you don't know what it means but eventually it hits you, changes, and evolves over time.
I think the reason why am is there "best" (or at least most commercially successful) album is because it was at a point where the slowed down the music enough to utilise Alex's amazing vocals but still kept it musically impressive whereas they're new albums are far too focused on his vocals which makes it quite boring musically
Like compare the bassline on r U mine vs something like star treatment, r U mine is rapid lots of hammer ons and technically very good but star treatment is just notes played at different tempos. Which hopefully shows why I personally am not a big fan of their new music.
Oh wow, the comments. I mean people can stop listening to them if it's not what they like anymore. Personally I think artistic growth is great and it'd be strange for a nearly 40 yo man to be making the same music he was doing in his early 20s
8:35 : they've attached their own meaning to it Yes!!! Yes!!! F-cking yes!!! 😂 English is not my first language so I was struggling to understand what's the meaning of the song 😂 Like... First I thought the guy truly cares about her. Like "Don't look back in anger, keep your peace, sweety", some kind of like "Wild world" of Mr. Big. Then it was like he doesn't really care about her, like " go find a better place to play with people hearts!" 😂 And some other many many things... 😂 And who is actually saying "Don't look back in anger" there? 😂😂 Lol.. 😅 Or probably it's not actually the "language barrier" they talked about, but my shitty English level... 😂
8:19 my country Argentina 🇦🇷 Been to River Plate stadium and told my friends I believed Noel almost cried. I also sang throughout the whole song too! Most epic live version
This song is definitely my song. Somehow i've always felt it as my resume, and I still can't explain why. You have crafted a video worthy of the song. My most sincere and humble thanks and congratulations.
The thing is it's been so long, you can't expect them to sound the same or want to sound the same as they did as younger artists. I think part of the beauty of these bands, who have been creating music for so long, is that we have seen them evolve their sound, evolve as people and create what they want to create. We can't expect them to want to be the same for so long. I really enjoy being able to switch from song to song and get so many versions of them and their sound.
I thought I saw you in the Battleship But it was only a look-alike She was nothing but a vision trick Under the warning light She was close, close enough to be your ghost But my chances turned to toast when I asked her If I could call her your name I thought I saw you in the Rusty Hook Huddled up in a wicker chair I wandered over for a closer look And kissed whoever was sitting there She was close and she held me very tightly 'Til I asked awfully politely Please, can I call you her name? I elongated my lift home Yeah, I let him go the long way round I smelt your scent on the seatbelt And kept my shortcuts to myself I thought I saw you in the Parrot's Beak Messing with the smoke alarm It was too loud for me to hear her speak And she had a broken arm It was close, so close that the walls were wet And she wrote it out in Letraset No, you can't call me her name Tell me where's your hiding place I'm worried I'll forget your face And I've asked everyone I'm beginning to think I imagined you all along I elongated my lift home Yeah, I let him go the long way round I smelt your scent on the seatbelt And kept my shortcuts to myself I saw your sister in the cornerstone On the phone to the middle man When I saw that she was on her own I thought she might understand She was close, well you couldn't get much closer She said: I'm really not supposed to, but, yes You can call me anything you want
