This is the main channel for the Flight Sim Historian, a user dedicated to teaching aviation history through the use of the many flight simulators from the past few years.
If my memory serves me right, they converted 250s with both nose and tail wheel configs. The 250 had R-1820s, while the 500 made use of the much larger R-2800s.
www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3335456/ This is the file. However, due to last month's official DCS patch messing up FC3 mods, I cannot guarantee whether this is flyable currently.
I really like that aircraft but it's gulping fuel like none I've ever experienced in the sim. I barely get 400 NM out of it and I'm only using about 3/4 of throttle.
@@FlightSimHistorian So there might actually be something wrong with the plane ? I contacted the developer but got no answer. Thanks for the reply I'll keep looking for a possible update.
@@THE_Michael_Westen Who did you contact? Restauravia support or someone else? I saw this video by chance. Also, I will investigate this fuel consumption because I do not have all the specifications of the plane. Question, you indicate: 400 NM using about 3/4 of throttle. But with what - initial fuel quantity - speed - altitude A new version will be posted soon. Jean (Restauravia Team)
@@d5turbi490 Hello, I contacted Restauravia through the email adress provided on their homepage on July 28th. Up to today there's no response. I flew the Vautour twice at around FL100 and with a groundspeed around 300 kts. I know fuel consumption is less at higher altitude and I expect higher consumption down low. That's why I don't give full throttle. From what info I could find the plane had close to 2000 NM range. That's a huge difference to the 400 NM I got o a full tank. Therefore I assumed the fuel flow values might be off. Just a thought, I could be wrong. Appreciate the reply.
@@THE_Michael_Westen The Restauravia webmaster is probably on vacation. Indeed, I just did a test with both tanks full, i.e. 2 X 568 gallons (4544 liters) In the manual, the consumption is 4300 liters/hour (4625 kgs/h) at full power. However, at about 90 - 92% power, (7500 RPM and 475 kts at 6500 feet) the 4544 liters were consumed in 36 minutes, i.e. a consumption multiplied by about 2. I am not a specialist in cfg files for MSFS, but I will try to solve the problem before the release of version 1.1 including an Israeli livery and the CEV version without active radar.
forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/86286-virtavia-c-17-freeware/ When you hit the download, there should be two other files that say 'liveries 1' and 'liveries 2'. Those are the files that contain extra liveries. Hope this helps!
Unfortunately, I have been unable to find the link to this particular iteration of the Privateer (it may have been removed). If you have P3Dv4, there is an updated version: simviation.com/1/download-file?file=PB4Y-2+Privateer+Tanker.zip&fileId=59779
If they had further developed the A5M with retractable gear, a more powerful engine, better sighting system and nose cannons you would have had an awesome plane. With these wings she was already super nimble.

The audio, especially the "narration" is just remarkably horrible. Did you not even listen to what you recorded and realized how bad and useless it was?
Is it really that quiet in the cockpit or did you adjust the volume of it? Does it have a noise cancelling headset option? Was it worth buying in your opinion?
I adjusted in-game audio so that my voice could be heard (I think my headset may be going). I think it's an okay airplane for MSFS, definitely not my worst purchase for this particular sim.
Very nice! Love the shaking elements in the cockpit. (We've had that since the TF-51 and Huey flight panels, but it's great how *everything* shakes in this one!)
@12:12 Your approach speed is very fast. Actually. the proper approach speed for any fighters should be around 160-180 knots and touching down at 135 - 160 knots (F-5E/F is about 160 - 165 knots). Moreover, this should have the Virtual Cockpit for a better sight of Landing, or we may crash before reaching the Runway threshold.
@@FlightSimHistorian I don't think there is any payware Su-7 Fitter-A. Anyways flying freeware Su-7 may be the only way for what flightsimmers can do as well.
After 65-70k feet, the altimeter in the cockpit doesn't line up with what the bar on the bottom of the screen says (which is typically more accurate). I'm not actually sure whether its a glitch within DCS that causes the numbers to not line up, or whether it was something to do with the real F-15.
I don't see what the big deal is. I did this 5 years ago in the Wright Brothers Flyer with the Spruce Goose, the Enola Gay, and a Boeing 777 strapped on my back (the Hinderburg was not available that day). I know I will be blocked from this channel but it was worth it. He got the view and the algorithm got its comment so it's a win, win for everyone.
